This is why I love the Icelandic substitute teacher.

I have a ton of Spanish homework and a test, and I haven't done any of it. I am comforted by the thought that no one in my class will have done it anyway.

I reread Deadman Wonderland. I think I stopped reading it after Hibana got introduced, because I was worried it would start having 20-chapter long battles and I can't handle that. I was pleasantly surprised to find that most battles were resolved in less than one chapter, including all the slaughtering!

I forgot how much I love DW. <3 It's so gooooooood. It's a wonderful mix of gory violence and naive shonen characters.

Not certain if this is going to be my topic yet, but it sounds really fun to look into. I wish I could get more than 1.5 points on my final IB marks for this essay.

Day two of school starting up again.

Day two of inexplicably waking up at 4am and not being able to get back to sleep again afterwards.

I'm dead tired and want to collapse in bed, and I haven't even left the house yet.

I want to cry. Sleep is so nice, this is just cruel and unusual and painful.

So I wake up at 7:30 am, like all normal people do for work and school.

It's pitch black.

AAAAAAAAAAAUGH maaaaan, this is not something I wanted to wake up to see on my first day of school of 2010.

And we are still in the middle of a literal freeze. It's like 32F right now, and if we're lucky, it'll get up to 36F by noon. Sob.

Sorry for pissing everyone off all the time.

I'm 17 today. Yippee.

It's 2010! Yaaaaaaaaay.

This wasn't a great New Year's, but it wasn't bad, at least. The fireworks were okay. Food was good! After being on a diet of crackers and water all day, anything tastes good, though. XD 2009 was a pretty good year, I guess. The January-April bits, anyway.

Mom got me a gift that was "crapwrapped." Inside there were Pop Tarts and loads of other American goodies. Like BUTTERFINGER! I love that shit. <3

As far as 2010 goes, my wishes (not resolutions) are:
-don't fail school
-don't fail the SATs
-oh god oh god please let me get into Brown

Back from Israel!

And goodness me, it was amazing!

I'd never been to Israel before this, but everything felt so nostalgic! It was like every experience I'd ever had in the multiple JCCs I've been a part of, all rolled up in a city that looks like my hometown in CA.

I also really love how nothing happened for Christmas. <3 I always hated how everything just completely shuts down on the 24th/25th, since I was left going "...what do I do now?" every year. But in Israel, shit keeps on happening! And even for Shabbat, Tel Aviv isn't hindered too much!

Only thing was the security. You need to get your bags checked and padded down by security before you enter shopping malls, parking garages...and in one case, a restaurant. I can understand why they need it, but it's a little bit jarring to see the first couple of times.

tl;dr I love Israel <3

I was up until 3 am last night working on my Spanish project and only got 4 hours of sleep. Then I come into school and find out that--oh! We have a substitute! So I came over to school feeling like death warmed over with my jellobrain leaking out my ears...only to find out that the project that MADE ME feel that way won't be presented until mid-January.
