
Elena de Prada
Elena de Prada holds a bachelor's degree in Germanic Philology (English) and a doctorate (applied linguistics) from the University of Santiago de Compostela. She did postgraduate studies in the UK at the University of Edinburgh, TESOL Centre-Sheffield City Polytechnic, and Trinity College. She has been teaching foreign languages for specific purposes in different specialties such as history, education, and tourism at the universities of Santiago de Compostela and Vigo and has been a visiting lecturer at several Spanish and European universities. At present, she teaches ESP at the Faculty of Business Studies and Tourism. She has been occupying different management positions at the universities of Santiago and Vigo. At present, she is the vice dean for internationalisation at the Faculty of International Affairs at the University of Vigo. Regarding research, she has coordinated different projects on innovation, internationalisation, foreign language learning, use of new technologies, local and regional development through English immersion projects in Galicia, interculturality, creativity, and literary routes, funded by the European Commission, the regional government, and the university. These projects yielded numerous articles and books on the topics. She is currently the coordinator of the research group ENLIFES (English for Lifelong Learning Skills), the director of the international STAR Scholars network in Spain, and a member of the project "MAEDU": Framework for Analysis of Digital Entrepreneurship in Universities," funded by the Ministry of Science and Universities.
