I am interested in the critical intersection of indigeneity, technology, art, aesthetics, music, media and revolutionary social movements. My research examines forms of Indigenous political communication and the role of art, media, and creativity in decolonization struggles. In particular, I focus on Indigenous hip-hop and media praxis as strategies for resistance and resurgence, and as means of culturally remixing/reimagining/revisioning indigeneity. By engaging the evolving, ambivalent relationship between Indigenous Peoples and digital technologies, my work interrogates questions of being, subjectivity, territory, and representation; and seeks to articulate strategies for community regeneration and youth engagement based on a commitment to Indigenous teachings and lifeways.
