
Amina Hadžiomerović
Sociocultural anthropologist with expertise in genocide and migration studies. Areas of research interest: Bosnian War (1992-1995), missing persons, Srebrenica Genocide, transgenerational legacies, war-induced migration, long-distance mourning, memory practices, suspended rituals, photography and film in the service of memory.
I graduated psychology at International University of Sarajevo. Afterward, I traversed to the field of sociocultural anthropology, finishing my PhD studies on the topic of the impact of the unresolved issue of the missing persons from Bosnian genocide on everyday lives, social identities, memories and migration patterns of the surviving families in the diaspora (Australia and the USA).
Currently on my postdoctoral studies at the University of Amsterdam, working on Facing Srebrenica project and developing model for survivor-centred participatory archival practice.
