Het betreft Buchelius' aantekeningen over wat er in het Utrechtse tuchthuis gebeurde toen hij er een van de regenten was. Transcription en retranslation with introduction and commentary by Kees Smit and Gisela Gerritsen-Geywitz of The Utrecht Archives, Archieven van het Stadsbestuur van Utrecht 1577-1795, Toegang 702-1, inv. nr. 1043: Arnoud van Buchell, Acta Ergasterii ab anno 1623. These are Buchelius' notes about what happened in the Utrecht penitentary while he was one of the regents.

EVC 3373B, en Utrecht, Universiteitsbibliotheek, Hs. 1053. Beide handschriften zijn aantekeningen in het Latijn en Nederlands die Aernout van Buchell (1565-1641) schreef als ouderling van de protestantse kerk in de stad Utrecht en daarbuiten in 1622-1624 en 1626-1628. Ook zijn er aantekeningen van buiten die twee termijnen. Transcription with preface and annotations of Arnoldus Buchelius, Observationes ecclesiasticae & Ecclesiastica Ultraiectina, in Leeuwarden, Tresoar, Hs. EVC 3373B, and Utrecht, University Library, Hs. 1053. Both manuscripts are notes in Latin and Dutch that Aernout van Buchell (1565-1641) wrote as church elder of the protestant church in the city of Utrecht and surroundings in 1622-1624 and 1626-1628. There are also notes outsides these two terms.

Het Diarium is deels autobiografie en deels kroniek, geschreven door Aernout van Buchell (1565-1641). Het beslaat de periode 1560-1599, bevat een beschrijving van de stad Utrecht en zijn reizen door Frankrijk, Duitsland en Italie, en is vooral geschreven in het Latijn. Transcription with preface and annotations of Arnoldus Buchelius, Diarium (Commentarius rerum quotidianarum …), in Utrecht, University Library, Hs. 798 (parts I and II). The Diarium is part autobiography, part chronicle, written by Aernout van Buchell (1565-1641). It covers the period 1560-1599, contains a description of the city of Utrecht and his travels through France, Germany and Italy, and is mainly written in Latin.

In this period Buchelius was one of the directors of the Amsterdam Chamber of the Dutch East India Company (1691-1621), and was involved with the Dutch West India Company. Published in two volumes. Het meest recente boek in de lijst werd gedrukt in 1627. Tracing the Sons of Brión: The R1b-A259 Y-DNA Subclade and the Uí Briúin Dynasty of Connacht

This study collated over 350 Y-DNA results (and associated surnames) from publicly available Y-DN... more This study collated over 350 Y-DNA results (and associated surnames) from publicly available Y-DNA haplotrees and specific surname DNA projects, as well as Y-DNA results from two verified male-line descendants of a royal dynasty of Connacht. These Y-DNA data were then compared against Irish surname pedigrees and royal genealogies associated with the Uí Briúin. In so doing, we demonstrate that there is good evidence that A259 is the defining DNA marker of the Uí Briúin. Beneath A259, a branching substructure is apparent corresponding to some of the individual branches of this dynasty as described in the historical record. While the branches are related within the correct timeframe and some close surname associations are internally consistent, it appears that no extant genealogy correctly details the earliest generations which lived prior to and immediately after the arrival of literacy in Ireland in the fifth century. This may be the result of political rearrangement or incorrect transmission of oral histories. This study demonstrates the utility of using Y-DNA to highlight potential inconsistencies in the reported royal genealogies. Y-DNA continues to evolve as a useful additional tool for Irish clan research.

Net als bij andere helden uit de Ulster-verhalencyclus, was de kwestie van Cú Chulainns afkomst v... more Net als bij andere helden uit de Ulster-verhalencyclus, was de kwestie van Cú Chulainns afkomst voortdurend in ontwikkeling. De verschillende versies van Cú Chulainns genealogie in verhalende literatuur en genealogische collecties tonen een nauwe verwantschap met Lebor gabála Érenn. Vooral in de elfde en twaalfde eeuw lijkt de genealogie van Cú Chulainn en zijn vader Súaltaim een kwestie van discussie te zijn geweest, en was gekoppeld aan de vraag of ze in essentie menselijke of bovennatuurlijke wezens waren. Het bewust wissen van (delen van) Cú Chulainns genealogie in twee manuscripten kan ook getuigen van dit debat.
