Both of them had distinguished teachers, fond of philosophy and mathematics, and had a great influence on the subsequent generations of philosophers and sociological scientists. History is replete with the fact that the philosophical views of the former had significant effect on the European socio-political settings, while Al-Farabi, though an important philosophical figure in Islam, is said to have received a flood of criticism from some of the scholars because of some of his opinions. In this study, therefore, attempt would be made to examine how each of the two great scholars imagined his own society through their respective books “The Republic” for Plato and “Opinions of the People of the Ideal City for Al-Farabi. Further attempt would also be made to compare the impact and influence of their works and ideas not only on their societies, but also on the subsequent generations of scientific philosophers that emerged after them.

Large and small e-commerce provide built-in search capability to their visitors to examine the products they have. While most large business are able to hire the necessary skills to build advanced search engines, small online business still lack the ability to evaluate the results of their search engines, which means losing the opportunity to compete with larger business. The purpose of this paper is to build an open-source model that can measure the relevance of search results for online businesses as well as the accuracy of their underlined algorithms. We used data from a Kaggle.com competition in order to show our model running on real data.

Another important feature for community structure is that it allows for classification of vertices according to their structural positions in clusters such that some vertices may have an important function of control and stability within the community while others may play an important role of leading relationships and exchanges between different communities. Studying the community structure of Flight MH370 will help us finding patterns that emerge from that structure which can lead to demystify some of the many ambiguous aspects of that flight. The aim of this study is to analyze the mesoscopic and macroscopic features of that community using social network analysis. Pajek, which is a program for social network analysis, is used to generate a series of social networks that represent the different network communities.

Therefore there is a need to build up faster loading web pages. Using jQ.Mobi, we can create faster loading eye catching web pages. I... more Explanations in recommender systems have gained an increasing importance in the last few years. It was found that explanations can help increase users' acceptance of collaborative filtering recommender systems, helping them make decisions more quickly, convincing them to buy and even developing trust as a whole. They can also help in decision support and in problem solving. While the majority of research has focused on the algorithms behind recommender systems, little emphasis was put on interface which is crucial in improving user experience especially if we know that communicating reasoning to users is considered an important aspect of assessing recommender systems. The importance of this paper is that it lies in the area of controlling the recommendation process which gained little attention so far. The focus is on the visualization of explanations in recommender systems. We will learn what modalities (E.g. text, graphs, tables, and images) can better present explanations to users, through the review of a selection of papers in the literature over the last few years. The results show that explanations with simple graphs and descriptions can better present explanations (meaning that complex graphical interfaces can confuse users). The rest of this paper is organized as follows: the next section gives an introduction to explanations in recommender systems. Then, we talk about the relationship between visualization of explanations and other disciplines such as human computer interaction and decision making. We then talk about the different methods of information visualization especially those used when explanations are involved. The paper ends with conclusions and perspectives for future work.

However, it was found that many recommender systems functioned as black boxes and did not provide transparency or any information on how their internal parts work. Therefore, explanations were used to show why a specific recommendation was provided. The importance of explanations has been approved in a number of fields such as expert systems, decision support systems, intelligent tutoring systems and data explanation systems. It was found that not generating a suitable explanation might degrade the performance of recommender systems, their applicability and eventually their value for monetization. Our goal in this paper is to provide a comprehensive review on the main research fields of explanations in recommender systems along with suitable examples from literature. Open challenges in the field are also manifested. The results show that most of the work in the field focus on the set of characteristics that can be associated with explanations: transparency, validity, scrutability, trust, relevance, persuasiveness, comprehensibility, effectiveness, efficiency, satisfaction and education. E-government presents a new and innovative approach to addressing traditional problems of government services by utilizing the Internet and WWW. It can create significant benefits for citizens, businesses, and governments around the world. For more than a decade, e-government applications have made major effects in the world. With unprecedented breadth in the field of information technology, the world moved from the industrial age into the information age. Many countries around the world already are moving to institute e-government as central in public sector operations. However, many innovations that could improve government efficiency and effectiveness and be of benefit to citizens and businesses have been hindered by legal, technical, organizational and other obstacles. This paper outlines concepts related to e-government, some of the goals and benefits embedded in the practice of e-government and most crucial issues involved. It also examines some of the challenges being encountered, main elements in e-government system and the current state of e-government implementation across the world. The paper also sheds light on e-government in Iraq, as Iraq now lies behind most of the developing countries (aside from developed countries) in terms of e-government implementation. Factors, such as political situations, absence of appropriate legislation, deficient technology infrastructure slowed Iraq in its development of the e-government services. Then, the future of e-government is examined from two perspectives: developed and developing countries. The study is finalized with conclusions and future work.

Many things can be inferred from this part of analysis such as who is more interested in book reading than others and why? Which books are most popular and which users are most active and why? The task requires the use of certain social network analysis measures (e.g. degree centrality). What does it mean when two users like the same book? Is it the same when other two users have one thousand books in common? Who is more likely to be a friend of whom and why? Are there specific people in the community who are more qualified to establish large circles of social relations? These questions (and of course others) were answered through the other part of the analysis, which will take us to probe the potential social relations between users in this community. Although these relationships do not exist explicitly, they can be inferred with the help of affiliation network analysis and techniques such as m-slice. Book-Crossing dataset, which covered four weeks of users' activities during 2004, has always been the focus of investigation for researchers interested in discovering patterns of users' preferences in order to offer the most possible accurate recommendations. However; the implicit social relationships among users that emerge (when putting users in groups based on similarity in book preferences) did not gain the same amount of attention. This could be due to the importance recommender systems attain these days (as compared to other research fields) as a result to the rapid spread of e-commerce websites that seek to market their products online.
