Blind people can access and operate switches such as lamp and fan. The unique proposition of this product is innovation, that no other company has created before. A competitive advantage of our product to targeted customers is price is affordable, easy, and comfortable to use and contributing to the community's welfare. Without Braille switch walls, it can be difficult for blind people to navigate indoor places, use electronics, and access information. Blind people may face social and cultural challenges because of a lack of Braille signage. With Braille switch walls, blind people can overcome their difficulties with navigation, orientation, and information access by using a Braille switch wall. Buildings with Braille signage can make it easier for blind people to find their way around unfamiliar areas and identify functional switches in the room. The opportunity for a Braille switch wall in Malaysia presents a solution to the problem faced by blind people in accessing and operating switches. The target market would primarily be visually impaired individuals in Malaysia, where the demand for assistive devices is increasing due to the growing number of blind and visually impaired people. The target location at public spaces, workplaces, or educational institutions and gain an understanding of their needs.

The development of wireless patient monitoring system has been quite intensive in the past decade... more The development of wireless patient monitoring system has been quite intensive in the past decade. Hence, in the present study, a new approach of wireless patient monitoring system was proposed as a prototype to minimize the power consumption and the costing issue. Visual Basic Net. 2010 as the software and Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC) 16F877 microcontroller as the hardware circuit were used to implement the system. The communication between the hardware and software systems is in the full duplex communication via the XBee modules happened. The results show that XBee module is successfully communicated with the whole system and the monitoring software is in the best condition to be implemented. Since the prototype using variable voltage, good comparison with the experimental and previous studies shows that the present study can be improved by using the real ECG machine so that the system can be ready to the real user.

For this purpose, there are many methods implemented to make the barcode reading process became easier to users. This project is to develop a barcode recognition system by using image processing. The system will be able to read barcode through an image and the system capable to capture the image by using a webcam. This project will be using MATLAB software program to develop the system and it will integrate with webcam or digital camera. System will analyse the image and then display on the Graphical User Interface (GUI) the barcode type, data and size of the image. System is designed to recognize different types of barcode and display the data once the barcode image is captured. System also is to provide convenience way of observing data from the barcode with lower costing compared by using the electronic barcode scanners. This system can be used anytime and anywhere by the user who likes to observe the data represented by the barcode numbers without going any places providing the barcode scanner services. As the result, the project has been developed smoothly and perfectly. For the future system development, it is suggested that the system also should consist a slider so that the user would able to control the brightness of the image which captured by webcam.

The satellite-based positioning global positioning system (GPS) signal is affected and loss incurred by the wall of the building causes the GPS lack of precision which leads to large positioning error. As a solution to the indoor area coverage problem, an indoor positioning based on bluetooth low energy (BLE) and long range (LoRa) system utilising the receive signal strength indicator (RSSI) is proposed, designed and tested. In this project, the prototype of indoor positioning system is built using node MCU ESP 32, LoRa nodes and BLE beacons. NMF2D is a popular approach for retrieving low-rank approximations of nonnegative data such as image pixel, audio signal, data mining, pattern recognition and so on. In this paper, we concentrate on biomedical signal separation by using NMF2D with alpha-divergence family which decomposes a mixture into two-dimensional convolution factor matrices that represent temporal code and the spectral basis. The proposed iterative estimation algorithm (alpha-divergence algorithm) is initialized with random values, and it updated using multiplicative update rules until the values converge. Simulation experiments were carried out by comparing the original and estimated signal in term of signal-to-distortion ratio (SDR). 3D object pose estimation by using a depth sensor is one of the important tasks in activities by ... more 3D object pose estimation by using a depth sensor is one of the important tasks in activities by robots. To reduce the pose ambiguity of an estimated object pose, several methods for multiple viewpoint pose estimation have been proposed. However, these methods need to select the viewpoints carefully to obtain better results. If the pose of the target object is ambiguous from the current observation, we could not decide where we should move the sensor to set as the next viewpoint. In this paper, we propose a best next viewpoint recommendation method by minimizing the pose ambiguity of the object by making use of the current pose estimation result as a latent variable. We evaluated viewpoints recommended by the proposed method and confirmed that it helps us to gain better pose estimation results than several comparative methods on a synthetic dataset.

In this project, a new algorithm called Diamond-Orthogonal Search (DOS) is proposed which employs small diamond search pattern and orthogonal shape in its search steps. Additional step to predetermine static block at initial stage is added to further speed up the search which beneficial to small motion video sequence contents. The proposed algorithm and several established algorithms, namely Full Search (FS), Three-Step Search (TSS) and Hexagon-Diamond Search (HDS) are implemented using MATLAB and their performance are being compared and analyzed in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), and number of search points. This paper describes the development of an aquaponic system using solar panel to control the wate... more This paper describes the development of an aquaponic system using solar panel to control the water pump and air pump based on Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC) technology. Solar power is ideally can be used in Malaysia due to location factor and also give the benefit to the environment as renewable energy. It involves a combination of electrical, electronics and agriculture into one sustainable system which consists of a solar panel, inverter, water pump and air pump. The solar panel is the most cleanest ways to produce electricity. With the average output voltage is 12V while the maximum output voltage produce by the solar panel is 18 V. The voltage depends on light capture by solar panel. Weather can minimize the light capture by solar panel thus affect the overall performance. This project requires a substitution power grid with green energy from solar panel which an inverter is used to convert Direct Current (DC) to Alternate Current (AC) and to step up 12V to 110V or 240V. A microcontroller is used to control the operation of an aquaponic system for switching water pump, air pump, battery charge and discharge state. Based on observation, the output power from inverter has produced 65.55% efficiency and the average output voltage of the solar panel is 16.16 V.

However, the heart pulse detector is expensive due to the complicated system and it is used widely only in hospitals and clinics. The project is targeting to develop a significant photosensor to the medical fields that is easy to use and monitor their health by the user everywhere. The other target is to develop a comfortable instrument, reliable, accurate result to develop of heart pulse using low cost photosensors. This project involved both hardware and software with related to signal processing, mathematical, computational, formalisms, modeling techniques for transforming, transmitting and also for analog or digital signal. This project also used Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC) 16F877A microcontroller as the main function to control other elements. Result showed this project functioned smoothly and successfully with overall objectives were achieved. Apart from that, this project give good services for people to monitor their heart condition form time to time. In the future, wireless connection e.g. Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and Zigbee would be developed to make the system more reliable to the current world. Furthermore, the system should be compatible to various environments such as Android based OS so that it can be controlled away from the original location.

For this purposed, many organization spend budget to buy a good system in order to have a reliable system to be operated in their organization. Many systems that invented are focused on the user friendly element e.g. easy to print out the document, available in cellphone and easy to access from anywhere. The proposed project developed student information that be used in Faculty of Electronics & Computer Engineering (FKEKK) and is known as the Student Information System (SIS). This system focused on recording and updating the student data. It is also will provide report for the lecturer who wanted to check their student status. Besides, this system was developed based on the forms oriented which used by the existing Staff Information System before. This new system used database concept to store all the information, which related to land application processes. As guidance for this project development, Rapid Application Design (RAD) methodology is used. As the conclusion, the software was fully functional and achieved the objectives. This system will contribute a new knowledge to the student information system and give the ease to the user for making arrangement or scheduling the student matters. This system will give a better performance in arranging the lecturer and student information without having to do it manually. For the future improvement, it is suggested that this system available and able to be used through cellular phone as the nowadays demand.

The system will measure the height of a product based on the input from a webcam. The input image from the webcam will then be processed using image processing and then calculated to give the height of the product. In the market, there are many products that need to be measured whether the length or the height. These products also have different size and shape. There are several problems when using manual method for measuring such as man power will be needed at the station, longer time needed for measuring the product and the measurement may not be so accurate. This system aims to reduce these problems by developing a measuring system based on vision system.

However, this application signal is limited, not operational, not available and inefficient for indoor environment. Therefore, the purpose of this project is to analyze indoor location and positioning utilizing the Wi-Fi signals. Wireless position estimation is based on distance measurement in determining the coordinates of user. Scene analysis which called fingerprinting technique is implemented in this project with measurement of received signal strength (RSS) from all the access point. The project has two phases to go through which are the surveying phase and online phase. The unknown location of the target user RSS during online phase will be compare to the database that has been collected during surveying phase. The Euclidean distance algorithm is implemented in calculating the location estimation which the MATLAB software used as the simulation tools. Several analyses have been done to determine the accuracy and effectiveness of the positioning error due to numbers of access point and environment traffic condition.

This paper describes the design of wideband parallel coupled microstrip bandpass filter (BPF) for... more This paper describes the design of wideband parallel coupled microstrip bandpass filter (BPF) for S-Band application. S-Band is the range of frequency from 2 GHz to 4 GHz which is a part of microwave system and a partly combination between Ultra High Frequency (UHF) and Super High Frequency (SHF) which including Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), Bluetooth, Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) and Long Term Evolution (LTE) applications. In order to satisfy the needs for many applications to be used at once, S-Band microstrip bandpass filter is proposed as it functions to remove out other frequencies from the passband using planar microstrip transmission topologies. To design the prototype, certain constraints had to be identified, the lumped element works well in low frequencies but at high frequency problems arises which the inductor and capacitors are only available for a limited range of values and the distance between the filter components at microwave frequency is not negligible. Hence, the microstrip transmission line is used in the design as it capabilities handling wide band of fabricated. The BPF will be designed using a parallel coupled line method which will be simulated using Advanced Design System (ADS) software, fabricated using FR4 substrate and analyzed using a network analyzer. The design is compared between ideal case design (lumped element) and parallel coupled line method for insertion loss, S21 and return loss, S11 The results is acceptable between simulation and measures values which-4.89 dB and-14.591 dB for S21 and S11 respectively.

In Malaysia, the proportion of patients is increasing day by day but the number of doctor and nurse slightly different situation. For this reason, the new propose graphical user interface for wireless patient monitoring system is proposed in order to help doctors and nurses to monitor their patient wirelessly for 24 hours by using a designated proposed device. This system runs as prototype to minimize the costing issue in the hospital. This system consists of software and hardware. Visual Basic Net 2010 software is used to design the graphical user interface (GUI) and Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC) 16F877A microcontroller is used as the hardware to implement the whole proposed system. This system is can be divided into three parts. There are three stages that involved in completing the system. The first is developing a program for the microcontroller, the second is transmitting the data from microcontroller to the personal computer (PC) using XBee module and the third is designing the GUI. In conclusion, the proposed GUI for wireless patient monitoring system facilitated the doctor and nurse in monitoring the patient and increased the efficiency of patient monitoring. For the future recommendation, additional sensor and alarm buzzer shall be added to the system as triggering the observer of the system.

This will cause many problems mainly when t here are emergency cases at traffic light intersect ions which are always busy and jammed with many vehicles . This situation becomes more crucial when special routing is not provided for the emergency vehicles such as ambulance, patrol car and fire truck when r ed sign light. To overcome this situation, a traffic light controller system for emergency vehicle using 434 M Hz Radio and Programmable Integrated Circuit (PIC) is design ed to help traffic control and also other road user s when emergency situation occurs. The system works when a n emergency vehicle approaching the traffic light intersections, the emergency vehicle will send a si gnal via dedicated device to the receiver at traffi c light. The receiver or controller receives emergency signals; it changes the traffic red light to green light in a specific duration of time. This system will help to reduce a ccidents which happen at the traffic light intersec tions because of other vehicle had to huddle for given ro ute to emergency vehicle. The traffic light control system for emergency vehicle using radio frequency (RF) assist ed the emergency vehicle to cross at the intersecti on of traffic light. In the future, the development of th is system can be improved by analyzing the stabilit y of Radio Frequency system e.g. frequency range and can be de velop d for real traffic light system.
