First, the age-dependent SIR endemic model is formulated from existing SIR epidemic models by adding age-dependent recruitment rate. The behavior of the model is analyzed by using the basic reproductive number R 0. The stability theory is used for the analysis of disease-free and endemic equilibrium. Finally, finite difference method of characteristics is used to present numerical results for the suggested age-structured endemic model.
