Conducting qualitative psychological research that addresses controversial, embarrassing or polit... more Conducting qualitative psychological research that addresses controversial, embarrassing or politically correct issues demands measures that facilitate the expression of participants' subjective positions. By motivating imaginative associations, mediating resources seem to meet this need well, entailing it deserves to be studied. Methodologically organized as an integrative literature review based on consultations of the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Electronic Journals in Psychology (PEPsic), Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS) and The United States National Library of Medicine (PubMed), the present article aims to investigate the use of the Thematic Drawing-and-Story Procedure (PDE-T) in qualitative investigations. The chosen databases have provided 25 articles published between 2017 and 2023 and used as a sole resource or accompanied by others. Approaching various populations and various phenomena with different theoretical frameworks, these studies, according to this review, show that the use of the PDE-T favours the generation of significant, reliable and useful empirical material in the production of comprehensive knowledge. Therefore, there is a body of knowledge that makes it possible to affirm that the PDE-T is an important and promising interview mediator in the field of qualitative research.
Esta pesquisa objetiva investigar o imaginário coletivo de mães sobre cuidados ampliados e prolon... more Esta pesquisa objetiva investigar o imaginário coletivo de mães sobre cuidados ampliados e prolongados de crianças que apresentam condições medicamente diagnosticáveis, em tempos de dupla jornada feminina, na perspectiva da psicologia psicanalítica concreta. O estudo se articulou metodologicamente por meio da abordagem de 13 relatos, disponibilizados online, de mães de crianças com Transtorno de Déficit de Atenção e Hiperatividade. A consideração do material permitiu a produção interpretativa de campos de sentido afetivo-emocional. O quadro geral indica sofrimento emocional materno em decorrência da fantasia de que a saúde e o bem-estar dos filhos se encontram inteira e exclusivamente sob sua responsabilidade.

Objective Investigate child care collective imaginaries, a focus justified by the social and fami... more Objective Investigate child care collective imaginaries, a focus justified by the social and family transformations resulting from the massive insertion of women into the labor market. Method The study is organized methodologically from the perspective of concrete psychoanalytic psychology, articulating the use of the psychoanalytic method with relational theorizations. The research involves collective psychological interviews, in which 12 judicial mediators were interviewed through the Thematic Drawing and Story Procedure. Results The psychoanalytical consideration of the material allowed the interpretative production of four affective–emotional meaning fields. Conclusion The general picture indicates that a conservative imaginary prevails in which the best child care is provided by the biological mother in the contexts of both the nuclear family and the matrifocal family while also maintaining a friendly bond with the father.

This research aims to investigate the collective imaginary of mothers concerning the extended and... more This research aims to investigate the collective imaginary of mothers concerning the extended and prolonged care of children who have medically diagnosable conditions, in times of female double journey, from the perspective of concrete psychoanalytic psychology. The study was methodologically articulated through the approach of 13 reports, available online, from mothers of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The consideration of the material allowed the interpretative production of affective-emotional meaning fields. The general frame indicates maternal emotional suffering as a result of the fantasy that the health and well-being of their children are entirely and exclusively under their responsibility.

Organiza-se em três seções. Na primeira, apresenta a psicologia psicanalítica concreta como referencial teórico. Na segunda, explicita e detalha a contradição do pensamento winnicottiano sobre cuidado infantil e maternidade. Na terceira, articula uma leitura do texto winnicottiano a partir da psicologia psicanalítica concreta, situando-a como convergente com a ontologia do ser social de Lukács. Por fim, indica a possibilidade de conhecimentos psicanalíticos colocarem-se a serviço de iniciativas a favor de transformações sociais que buscam superação de visões essencialistas sobre a maternidade.
Considering the academic development of the psychologist as a complex process which articulates t... more Considering the academic development of the psychologist as a complex process which articulates the transmission of scientific knowledge and changes in imaginative activity, we psychoanalytically investigate the collective imaginary of Psychology students regarding the first clinical consultation. We conducted a group interview with 52 undergraduate students, using the Thematic Story-Drawing Procedure as a way to open a dialogical field. The material obtained, through the psychoanalytical method, resulted in the creation/gathering of four affective-emotional meaning fields: “I came, I saw and I conquered”, “I know that I (do not) know”, “I survived and I will save” and “I am and I do”, from which we see an emotionally immature imaginary about the meeting with the patient, since students are more self-centered than concerned with the patient. Justifica-se tendo em vista a produção de conhecimentos relevantes para a clínica psicológica, vertentes psicoterapêuticas e psicoprofiláticas, e para debates que visam transformações sociais. Objetiva-se investigar o sofrimento de meninas adolescentes na perspectiva da psicologia psicanal... more Objetiva-se investigar o sofrimento de meninas adolescentes na perspectiva da psicologia psicanalítica concreta, referencial que se define pelo uso do método psicanalítico e de teorizações de tipo relacional. Justifica-se na medida em que há indícios de que a adolescência feminina corresponde a uma fase potencialmente vulnerável ao sexismo e à violência, que geram efeitos traumáticos. Organiza-se me- todologicamente por meio do estudo psicanalítico da série televisiva 13 reasons why, que tematiza manifestamente a questão. Exposições ao material, em estado de atenção flutuante e associação livre de ideias, permitiram a interpretação de dois campos de sentido afetivo-emocional: “Vadias ou certi- nhas” e “Sem aprovação não sou ninguém”. O quadro geral revela imaginários conservadores e opres- sores que, ao incitarem a submissão feminina, atacam a tendência humana básica de posicionar-se de modo espontâneo diante da própria existência, determinando efeitos nocivos sobre a subjetividade da menina adolescente.

This study's objective was to investigate suffering among adolescent girls from the concrete psyc... more This study's objective was to investigate suffering among adolescent girls from the concrete psychoanalytic psychology perspective, a theoretical framework that adopts the psychoanalytic method and theorizations from a relational perspective. It is a relevant endeavor considering evidence that adolescence among girls is a phase potentially vulnerable to sexism and violence, which may cause traumatic effects. It is methodologically organized in a psychoanalytic study of the television series 13 reasons why, which manifestly addresses this research topic. The material was addressed in a freefloating-attention state, from which two affective-emotional meaning fields emerged: "sluts or prudes" and "I am a nobody without approval". In general, the plot reveals conservative and oppressive imaginaries, inciting female submission, attacking the basic human tendency to spontaneously express toward life, harmfully affecting the subjectivity of adolescent girls.

Optamos, metodologicamente, por realizar leitura e discussao de artigos, que utilizam esse tipo de material empirico, a partir da adocao da psicologia concreta como referencial. Deste modo, concluimos que o estudo destas manifestacoes pode ser considerado alternativa fecunda para aqueles que se encontram engajados na producao de conhecimento compreensivo sobre a conduta de individuos e coletivos humanos.

Tais comunicações foram interpretativamente consideradas, de acordo com o método psicanalítico, permitindo a produção de quatro campos de sentido afetivoemocional: "Falha mecânica", "Até que a morte nos separe", "Quem sou eu?" e "Rejeição". O quadro geral revela um imaginário conservador, a partir do qual podem emergir condutas preconceituosas e excludentes e que persiste apesar de inegáveis conquistas de movimentos sociais que focalizam as questões de gênero. Tuvimos como objetivo investigar psicoanalíticamente el imaginario colectivo de estudiantes de Psicología en relación a las dificultades sexuales, teniendo en cuenta que las quejas relativas al campo sexual de la vida humana son comunes en la práctica psicológica. Realizamos entrevistas colectivas con tres grupos de alumnos, utilizando el procedimiento de dibujos-cuentos con tema como recurso facilitador. Obtuvimos de esa manera 47 producciones. Los dibujos-cuentos fueron interpretativamente considerados de acuerdo al método psicoanalítico, permitiéndonos la producción de cuatros campos de sentido afectivo-emocional: ''Falla mecánica'', "Hasta que la muerte nos separe'', ''Quién soy yo?" y ''Rechazo''. El cuadro general revela un imaginario colectivo conservador, a partir de lo cual pueden emerger conductas prejuiciosas y excluyentes, que persiste a pesar de las innegables conquistas de los movimientos sociales que se focalizan en cuestiones de género.

This paper aims to investigate from a concrete psychoanalytical standpoint, the collective imagin... more This paper aims to investigate from a concrete psychoanalytical standpoint, the collective imaginary that female undergraduate students share in terms of working the double shift of having a career and a household to run. This is qualitative research based on the psychoanalytical method and is carried out via a collective psychological interview and Thematic Illustrated Story Procedure. The material allowed for the interpretation of an affective-emotional field named “My money, my comfort, my leisure”. The prevalence of this field does not allow for the imagination needed to value other life projects, such as having a personal and/or socially significant professional work and establishing a family. The overall framework demonstrates that the participants imagine that it is possible to escape from the double shift by avoiding financial dependency, one of the most important means of female oppression

The study was methodologically articulated on the approach of the Brazilian movie “Divórcio: até que o amor exploda”, directed by Pedro Amorim. The movie allows a clear psychoanalytical appreciation of the connection configuration between spouses, supporting the interpretative production of three affective-emotional meaning fields or unconscious related to the plot: “Until death do us part”, “It was glass and it broke” and “Using children”. By clearly demonstrating the immaturity of idealization, this study points to the importance of debating on new forms of association between conjugality
and parenting.

In our society, certain collective imaginaries socially circulate, according to which the biologi... more In our society, certain collective imaginaries socially circulate, according to which the biological mother would be the best caregiver of their children. Such beliefs have created problems, considering that a large number of mothers, who live together or who are the only adult in the household, are currently inserted in the labor market. The daily difficulties, which generate socially determined emotional sufferings, that these mothers face are amplified, due to isolation measures aimed at dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, this study, which aims to investigate the experience of mothers during the period of social isolation, is justified. Methodologically, this research is articulated as a qualitative study using the psychoanalytic method, which used, as material, posts from blogs through which three mothers discuss the issue under study. As a result, the psychoanalytical consideration of the material allowed the enunciation of two interpretative results, understood as fields of affective-emotional meaning, “Doing everything and a bit more” and “My son, my happiness”. When seeking to deepen the interpretative results with Winnicottian contributions, which articulate the human capacities of creativity and care, it can be considered that maternal experiences, lived as social suffering, can be mitigated if childcare organization, known as motherhood, can be partially replaced by practices that involve the engaged participation of other adults, who belong to extended family, and community networks.

Interviews were conducted using the Thematic Drawing-Story Procedure as the dialogical-mediator resource. The productions were psychoanalytically considered, which produced three fields of affective-emotional meaning: “an adopted child is a
happy child”, “happy family”, and “the long wait”. Together, these fields of meaning revealed the anxiety, idealization and suffering experienced by these couples after waiting years for the opportunity to adopt a child. We found that the long wait generates a heavy emotional burden for the couples who intend to adopt, promoting an important impact on future adoptive family relationships.
