Elen Cristina Carvalho Nascimeto (aka. Elen Nas): "As a Social Scientist, my goals were to analyze society and culture: what is part of identity and what is changeable, as desired for a better relations and environment. After the Bachelor Degree was studying music, producing and working on that field, followed by the action and production on Performance Art, Visual Arts and Sound Art. Back to the academic world more recently, completed the Master in Design with a thesis about electronic art, which led to a discussion on technology and society: the role of arts, design and its interconnections between ethics and aesthetics. The need to deepen studies on Philosophy of Science and Philosophy of Technology made a pleasant encounter with Bioethics field, where I started to investigate in depth AI, consciousness and robotics.
