A few previous studies have positively identified the significant impact of rural tourism (in certain case on organized homestay program) and improvement of rural economy. In relation to that; this paper basically presenting first on the attendance data of the foreign visitors coming to homestay Kota Aur particularly during the year of 2017 as well as touching on the local tourists as well. Thus, having consistant flow of tourists coming to this parrticular homestay, it generate quite an impact to the local ecomony especially tothe economy of the said village. Hence, the second and most important part of the study is the evaluation and the measurement of the economic impact study positively cover-up the social benefits to the homestay participants directly and to the supportive homestay groups indirectly.

This draft copy of the e-book will be as a start for me to come-up with more detail and orderly tabulating manner in recording all the trips that I have done through-out my life. When seeing it in as one package; range from mere budget hotel to the luxury skyscraper hotel; this e-book seems giving the actual perspective from a local person having travel to certain part of the globe seems interesting.
I hope this e-book can somehow be as a guide to the avid traveler. Go, pack and start seeing things while you can.

Nowadays, the clients want to play bigger role in implementing the interior task and eager to use or have the green or sustainable building idea to be implemented into their interior and also on their exterior project. So, interior design with sustainable factors has become more important. Designers began to address the internal problems of their environment and recognize the importance of interior design role. In the meantime; while some interior designers using sustainable environmental design criteria in their design solutions, the study examines how they apply it as a component for the design problem has not been done.
Thus, we must look back into the academic sectors where this field must play an important role in producing the designers especially the interior designer with fair knowledge on environmental friendly designs or in today term as design with sustainable or green design factors. Therefore, with the above goals, this e-book content can become an initial platform trying to measure on the students sensitivity in applying interior design sustainable issues into their academic studio projects. This e-book however will discuss on design studio project that addresses sustainability through an environmentally based research focus. Students somehow start the project with a research component, interpreting the usefulness of interior’s sustainable material and the sustainable implications in the process of design decision been made. The process of recycling interior materials is advisable to use as well as recycling in the usage of interior products (i.e. furniture etc.). Furniture manufactured from not-recycled friendly materials are also been looking into not to be considered in the design. Therefore, this report examines the environmental conditions of a continuing practice of the sustainable interior design. Please refer to the related journal papers published in relation to these e-book project to get the essence of the green/sustainable effect of the marvelous drawings done the related selected students.

To know such potential, the author have done some experiments on PFRFC to be contributed in building construction material through experimental investigation and analysis. PFRFC could be an ideal building material because it is economical, utilizing more air, through unwanted newspapers, magazines, cardboard, junk mail, old bills, and even tax record papers. Now days, natural fiber composites takes an important role in building and construction industry as they have great potential in order to replace timber, concrete, steel and glass fibers. Various types of natural fiber composites include rice husk, coconut husk, groundnut shell, cotton stalk and many more used as building materials for various applications. Natural fiber composites building mate...

Using of natural fiber as fiber reinforcement effectively improved strength, ductility and durability requirements of high performance cement composites. Regretly, natural fibers are dumped as agricultural waste (e.g. coconut, bamboo, wood or chips, bast fiber, leaf fiber, seed and fruit fibers, etc), so can be easily available low cost. The applications of natural fiber for sustainable construction material design can be done as filler or masonry composites, reinforcement, thermal conductivity, cementations/binder, etc. Previous and current researchers focusing the natural fiber to improve the properties of lightweight composites still required a lot of investigations to make it improved. However, the present work consists of the availability of natural fiber waste substance, sustainable construction materials are evaluated for their physico-mechanical properti...

Awareness of the used of compatible and sustainable material in historical building conservation ... more Awareness of the used of compatible and sustainable material in historical building conservation has resulted in the rebirth of lime technology and application. Then again, the knowledge of the preparation and procedure influencing the final quality of lime is still limited and disagreement regarding the conservation treatment still continues to exist among the conservator. The purposed of this paper is to highlight the current deterioration condition and suggests possible treatment focusing to external wall of selected heritage buildings in UNESCO's George Town Heritage City in the State of Penang, Malaysia. It is agreed within the Malaysian conservation works scenario, lime has been used on most part of the external wall and therefore this smart material will be the focus of the report. The study was conducted based on qualitative method, such as literature review, visual observation and interview. From the pilot survey of 85 historical buildings in Georgetown core zone, it ha...

So far, there is no genuine comprehensive guide that has been carefully gathered in an organized manner to comparatively table out the design part focusing on building defects: latent or non. As usual, the defects are expected to be existing right after the building’s rigorous examination, especially during the building inspection period. It is invariably the ambitious target of this empirical research to accumulate all the essential parts and key pieces in an organized way, which is caused and found within the identified twelve equivalent categories such as on building construction components that produce defects effect; indisputably seen or cleverly hidden or covered up. It is the key target of the mission, anticipating to produce referred guidelines so that the people involved within the building industry can look upon. The research intention, somehow, i...

Situated at Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, the EPF Building reflects the image of advanced technology in architectural style, after its latest renovation from 1960's modern architecture. Further understanding on the waterproofing system selected for the concrete flat roof and also the wet areas as exemplified for this building can be further elaborated; the materials, the advantages and disadvantages of certain types of the systems and the way they are applied. The paper emphasizes on the construction players to be more conscious, appreciative and truly understand the viability and suitability of the waterproofing system to suit in our local building and local context.

The paper tabulate list of potential solutions best practiced by the local waterproofing implementer with data on real case studies pertaining to the building leakage typically happened from roof as well as the toilet or cracked building expansion structures. The case studies are derived from the real selected projects done by the associated building maintenance contractor for the last 20 years. By identifying the possible factors that cause the leakages, one can take early steps to prevent the same defects from repeating thus saves on the financial side. The finding indicates the formulation ideas that can be used for creating a framework in preventing or minimizes the building leakage syndrome from happening again. The analysis from this paper may give some meaningful tabulation on how to maintain these standard bui...

The study outlines typical problem facing with the building leakage within the humid warm tropical climate as well as highlighting some obvious leakage scenario found within the opposite northern hemisphere’s climate in the UK. It also tabling the list of practical waterproofing solution done for each of the seepage problem from the real life case studies highlighting the technique and suitable best materials and products used. The paper target to help the construction players i.e. the maintenance team, building owner as well as the designer to identify the correct steps especially when choosing the right waterproofing materials in dealing with the building’s rectification work typically dealing with the building leakage syndrome problem.

Located in the middle seat of government of the Empire of the famous Melaka Sultanate, Jasin district does have a number of quality historic buildings. One of the old buildings found in one the villages located quite close to the town of Jasin is the unique domeless Air Barok Village Mosque. Its location is situated along the main road, easy to reach. In a study stated in this paper, it shows how the unique architecture of this mosque of Air Baroque Village can be appreciated. This paper presents a study of the design elements and architectural features that are unique to the mosque around this region. This paper stated on the approach in creating this structure is different compared to most of the existing mosque currently and previously being built around the state. The concept of neo-archipelago idea to have the Chinese Buddha features in a Muslim mosque was unique found on this religious building located at the side of the world. Expectations for this study to reveal the noble efforts of the Government bodies involved in restoring old buildings such as this mosque can indirectly maintain the cultural arts of the local Malays who are the largest race in Malaysia. Efforts should also be given to maintain old buildings; not only religious buildings but also other building types; in the effort to ensure local arts and culture still exist and can be appreciated by future generations.
