Getting Started
Welcome to SCORM Cloud! This document is a high level guide for new users of the application.
What is SCORM Cloud?
SCORM Cloud is lightweight training delivery system. It supports the import and delivery of SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 (2nd, 3rd, & 4th editions), xAPI, AICC, and cmi5.
SCORM Cloud Terminology Defined
What's a Registration?
A registration is an instance of a learner taking a single course. For example, you have one learner taking four courses, that is four registrations. Once a registration is created, the learner can access the course as many times as they would like, provided it's still active, without generating a new registration.
More details around pricing can be found here.
What's a Course?
We view a course as a prepackaged .zip file.

Content
Importing Content
To be able to test your content, you must first import your content. You can add SCORM 1.2, 2004 (2nd, 3rd, & 4th edition), AICC, xAPI, cmi5 content.
Click the green Add Content button to expose your import options. Click Import a SCORM, AICC, xAPI or cmi5 package. You can also select also click Import a PDF, MP4, or MP3 file to create a cmi5 package. Click Choose File and find the course you wish to upload and click Import Course
Testing Content
Testing your content is one of the most important things you can do inside SCORM Cloud. The SCORM Cloud course Sandbox is an ideal place to launch your content repeatedly, without having to worry about registration limits. SCORM Cloud is probably the friendliest, most accepting player out there. If your content doesn’t work in SCORM Cloud, it is probably not going to work in your LMS either.

Debug Logs
There’s a lot going on behind the scenes of your when you play your course in SCORM Cloud and the debug log is where you find all of that information. In most cases, you won’t need to look at the debug log, unless you’re into that kind of thing, but it’s there to use if something goes wrong with your course.

If you'd like the share the debug log with our support staff or other external entities, there is a URL at the bottom of the debug log page.
More information on debug logs here.
Delivering Content
Invitations
When you’re ready to share your courses with the world, you can create what we call an invitation. Fancy, right? An invitation is simply you inviting a learner to take your course. There are two different types of invitations to choose from: Public or Private.

A public invitation creates a URL that can be sent to anyone or posted on a website. Anyone with the link can experience your content, and when they launch your training, it counts as a registration.

A private invitation generates a single registration for each learner that is emailed.

It’s important to note that with private registrations, the registration counts towards your total registrations when the user is invited, not when the user begins using your content.
More information on Invitations can be found here.
Dispatch
The Dispatch feature of SCORM Cloud lets you maintain control over your content even after it’s been delivered to an LMS. A Dispatch Package is shell package that can be imported into an LMS. When the shell is launched by an LMS, SCORM Cloud loads your course inside the shell. This gives you a new level of control over your content — a level not available from a traditional LMS alone. Dispatch Packages report high-level results (Completion Status, Pass/Fail Status, Score, andTotal Time) to the LMS and keeps detailed results in SCORM Cloud, even though your course technically stays on SCORM Cloud servers.
Creating a Dispatch package
Choose the course you want to Dispatch from your Library
Click Share > Dispatch

If you want to dispatch more than one course, click Add Course and pick your course from the drop-down.

Click Create New Destination and enter a name for your Destination. Feel free to add any tags or notes that you wish and click Save. A Destination is a tag that can be filtered on in your reports. A common practice is creating a Destination for each client.

Click Create and your Dispatch package will be created. The Dispatch tab will show all the Dispatches you have created. Once you have created the Dispatch, it’s ready to share with another LMS through one of these methods.

Download: Download the selected Dispatch package to your local computer. You can then upload the zip file to any LMS you choose. (Most common) Publish: Publish your Dispatch package directly to the target LMS with just one click using PENS (Package Exchange Notification Services). You will need to provide the PENS publishing credentials for the target system, which include the URL, System User ID, and Password. BLTI: BLTI allows you to link your Dispatch package directly to any LMS that supports BLTI by exposing the provided URL, Key, and Secret value.
More information on Dispatch can be found here.
Reporting
Reportage is a tool inside of SCORM Cloud that delivers tracking about your learners and your courses. Reports can either be bare bones or very in-depth. Please note, Reportage defaults to 90 days. How you access Reportage depends on the type of reports you are looking for. If you want to access the full overview, including the reports and stats for all your learners and courses, just visit the History tab of SCORM Cloud and click go to Reportage for Full Report.

If you want reports for a specific course Choose that course from your Library Click the Reportage button on the course page

To get reports for a specific Learner Click the People tab Click the Reportage button on the learners page

To see reports by Invitation Click on the Invitations tab Click the Invitation Click the Reportage button on the invitation page.

More information on Reportage can he found here.
Apps/API
Use SCORM Cloud to turn any app into a learning/training environment. If you’re using the API, you will need an App Id and a Secret Key. Your App Id and Secret Key are what connect your Application with your SCORM Cloud account. Here’s where you go to get them.
Log in to your SCORM Cloud account Click the Apps tab Click Details to expose the Secret Key. This coupled with the AppID will be used to make API calls to SCORM Cloud.

Click Details to expose the Secret Key. This coupled with the AppID will be used to make API calls to SCORM Cloud. The Details page will also display a 13 month registration overview.

xAPI LRS
Every SCORM Cloud account comes with its own built-in LRS. That means you now have a place to send xAPI statements, which is a key piece to implementing xAPI — and you can set up your activity providers with access to your LRS.
LRS Endpoints
In this section of SCORM Cloud, you can discover the xAPI LRS endpoints available to your account, give activity providers access to these endpoints, and view the xAPI statements that have been stored in your LRS. By selecting an Allowed Endpoint for an activity provider you can restrict it's access to only the app you would like it to have access to. If "all" is selected in the drop down, an activity provider will be able to send statements to any app endpoint Learners can send statements to your LRS either by experiencing xAPI activities that have been assigned to them, or by initiating learning on their own, outside of the LMS To configure a xAPI enabled application, your learners can simply use their SCORM Cloud username and password.
Activity Providers
This is the area where you can give an activity provider the ability to send statements to your LRS. Just click the "add provider" button, and a new instance will be added. Edit the "label" to keep yourself organized. Choose basic auth or OAuth, depending on what authentication type your activity provider is using.
LRS Viewer
See all of the xAPI statements that have been sent to your LRS. Filter statements to see only the ones you care about, and export them to take them to another LRS. Click on a statement to see the raw statement data.
Statement Forwarding
Automatically forward statements posted to a SCORM Cloud LRS to another LRS. Be sure and generate a unique username/password for use by SCORM Cloud as a security precaution.
More information on the xAPI LRS tab here.
SCORM Cloud Trial Account
If you’re on a Trial account you’re limited to 3 courses & up to 5GB of storage (expanded) and 10 re-settable registrations. If you max out our registrations, you can clear them via the Account tab. To clear your registrations: Click the Account tab Click Clear Existing Registrations
Sample Content
You can download sample content here. We put these together so they aren’t graphically exciting, but they serve their purpose.
