Xesús Feás

I am a scientific researcher with a keen interest in the observation of the invasive Vespa velutina var nigrithorax (Lepelletier, 1835) Asian hornet and investigating methods for controlling the species.​​Degree in Veterinary Medicine; a degree in Food Science and Technology and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Nutrition and Bromatology with European degree. I am member of the Academy of Veterinary Sciences of Galicia. My research placements include the National University of Córdoba (Argentine), the General Organic Chemistry Institute-CSIC (Spain), the firms Picometrics (France) and Bionostra (Madrid), the Centre for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (Lund University, Sweden), and at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana de Castelo (Portugal). My academic background (veterinary and food technologist), doctorate in the area of analytical chemistry, as well as the different postdoctoral stays (related to polymer science and organic chemistry), have allowed me to acquire a multidisciplinary training regime bringing together knowledge to deal with various lines of research work in order to gain success. Based on my research, was possible a direct transfer to: (i) public health laboratories (public and private) of the analytical methods developed for the control of substances used illegally in animal production and to (ii) the beekeeping sector in relation to the knowledge generated around products apiculture (composition and medicinal properties).
