Tangent function will also be implemented to get a complete set. The functions have been simulated using Quartus II where the result will be compared to the previous work. The number of bits has also been extended for each trigonometric function. The design is based on RTL due to its resource efficient nature. At earlier stage, a technology independent test bench simulation was conducted on ModelSim due to its convenience in capturing simulation data so that accuracy information can be obtained. On second stage, Intel/Altera Quartus II will be used to simulate on technology dependent platform, particularly on the one belonging to Intel/Altera itself. Real data on no. logic elements used and propagation delay have also been obtained.

One of the highly researched standard circuit to reduce transistor count is the full adder as it appears in almost all computing circuits. In this paper, an alternative to CMOS technology using symmetric Boolean function lattice structure is presented to produce full adder. Symmetric functions are the functions that are invariant under input permutation. Theyhaveaspecialwayofrealizationthat offerssomepossibility to reducethe number oftransistors used. Full adder falls into this classof functions. It has been found that the right full adder lattice structure based circuit only requires 22 transistors to produce the correct function for the sum and c out output. This is a saving of 6 transistors as compared to the standard 28-transistor CMOS full adder. The output...

Boolean functions are represented as a sequence of integers as a row vector, called Boolean block, which is a one to one mapping of 1-s and 0-s from the function's truth table. By this representation we study the binary pattern possessed by various classes of Boolean function.

Various methods of detection and analyses are compared according to their implementations, procedures and results. Nowadays, there are vast methods of crater detection algorithms and the most accepted one are by using Hough Transform analysis and edge detection algorithm. Nevertheless, some of them are implementing the detection based on illumination view that is the distinguishable between sunny and shady blob that formed a crater. Some of the methods are new and promising using stochastic image modeling. For crater detection algorithm, the edge based and edge free methods are compared according to their performances. The advantages and drawbacks of these techniques are summarized here.

In order to get a better estimation of the craters parameters, only the most clearly defined and typical crater patterns are chosen. An experiment was conducted at STRIDE (Science Technology Research Institute for Defense) to prove the relationship between impact craters shape and its projectile point of origin. One marble ball, a catapult and a basin of loose sands were used in the experiment. The motion of the marble was recorded using high speed camera with 1500 frame/second specification and the angle was estimated using frame by frame displacement measurement. The correlation between the impact angle, velocity and the depth of crater was investigated.

In this paper, a new architecture of hybrid Modified Booth Encoded Algorithm (MBE) and Carry Save Adder (CSA) is developed as fast multiplier architecture. Altera Quartus II platform is used to run the simulation. The architecture design is programmed into FPGA using Altera DE2 board to verify the synthesizability on physical hardware. This hybrid fast multiplier delivers good performance in term of higher speed as well as in term of less usage of logic elements.

FCT that is mathematically represented in matrix form is used to convert a three-phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) stator current into two-phase quadrature current. The input and output (I/O) interphase signals i.e. i a and i b , i α and i β are all in 2's complement 16 bits. To address the complicated hardware based floating arithmetic, floating point calculations involved are handled as fixed-point. Apart from that, the module is also required to complete the FCT calculation within four clock cycles.

This paper implement power series of natural logarithm function using Verilog HDL in Quartus II. The mode of design used is RTL in order to decrease the number of megafunctions. The simulations were done to determine the precision and number of LEs used so that the output calculated accurately. It is found that the accuracy of the system only valid for the range of 1 to e.

Despite of having a good number of diagram categories, UML is still lacking of a dedicated set of diagrams for representing design patterns. While numerous works have been published on attempts to describe design patterns in terms of UML features, there is hardly any work has been done on attempts to un-clutter class diagrams at the initial development stage so that the design patterns in used can be seen clearly. With the aim to tidy-up huge networks of interconnecting class diagrams, this paper proposes a new higher level set of diagrams and layout schemes to better highlight the design patterns used in a software architecture. This proposal can go further as a proposal for a new set of diagram in UML standard.
