Ageing workforce is a major trend that characterizes the demographic evolution of Europe, which g... more Ageing workforce is a major trend that characterizes the demographic evolution of Europe, which generally affects the society, but also the organizations from economic and social point of view. Employers should change their negative perceptions of ageing workforce, whereas the changes that occur along with ageing are unable to influence the efficiency of work, assuming that a suitable strategy implemented to prevent and manage potential problems. The paper includes European and national statistics on the issue, a case study analysing the workforce ageing management in a Romanian manufacturing company, which has succeeded in achieving the active ageing target, and-on this basis-several good practice recommendations given on the approach employers should have on the workforce with regard to age.
This paper summarizes the available information on major common concerns in Europe and worldwide,... more This paper summarizes the available information on major common concerns in Europe and worldwide, regarding the occupational hazards known as emerging risks, in terms of bodies responsible for risk prevention and risk assurance and also, of control institutions and social partners involved in work processes. It can thus be outlined an overview on how the various stakeholders are perceived nowadays this subject of definite importance in occupational safety and health. If certain consensus-oriented elements can be released, then they are based on the fact that the definition and identification of considered emerging risks are, by default, a challenge. Certainly it is not enough to address them from the perspective of opponents to the „classic” risks. The article also emphasizes the principles that should underpin the emerging occupational risk prevention approaches.
The small and medium enterprises of Romania are requiring support allowing them to cross a first ... more The small and medium enterprises of Romania are requiring support allowing them to cross a first step towards the integration of the environmental issues, providing the basis to continue the environmental approach to the implementation of a comprehensive Environmental Management System, its eventual certification and to become aware of the consequences of their activities on the environment. In this purpose, the article aims to analyze some methods of environmental performance evaluation, the type and construction framework of the environmental performance indicators, based on applicable ISO standards. The results can enable the companies to build a self‐contained system of performance improvement, or provide the basis for the continuation of the environmental approach towards the establishment of a certified environmental management system.
In order to reduce and/or stop work accidents and occupational diseases from medium voltage, high... more In order to reduce and/or stop work accidents and occupational diseases from medium voltage, high voltage, very high voltage and ultra-high voltage power stations and for locating workplaces with high susceptibility of accidents, it is proposed for each power station which is upgraded, optimized or built as a new objective, to be carried out the assessment of the risk level in terms of occupational health and safety and to determine the safety level of the power station.
