From the industrial revolution, a time in which children are to be punished for using their imagination, to the behaviorists who believed feelings, values, dreams, mean very little to the learning process, teachers always struggle to achieve a harmonic balance with their students, despite all difficulties and challenges. The role of pedagogics is to help all educational systems to evolve and upgrade themselves to their maximum potential in order to allow students to overcome the problems and thrive in the learning experience.

The lack in evaluating the performance (internal and external evaluation of schools and teachers) does not contribute in improving the effectiveness of schools. In Greece the profession of the teacher remains attractive, but it is pointed out that the quality of teaching is not evaluated objectively (Education and Training Surveys Report of 2015, Greece). The present research aims a) to investigate the views of future teachers (4th academic year students, shortly before acquiring their degree) concerning the quality of active teachers, based on their school life experiences and b) to identify the elements that constitute and define the profile of the successful and effective teacher. It is noted that education reformers should focus on all different aspects of teacher education and not only in their main studies subject, but also focus on pedagogy and teachers' autonomy concerning decision making in terms of teaching and students social behavior.

Human friendship and socialization, as key factors of human coexistence and cooperation within a social group, have been hit hard by the strict imposition of measures of distancing and social isolation in order to limit the disease and stop its unexpectedly deadly transmission. The present study focuses on exploring the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on friendship and socialization of people in the new different social contexts that have developed. In the first stage, our work attempts a review of the research and studies carried out during these two years which investigate the changes that occurred in these two dimensions of human coexistence and cooperation to highlight the way in which young adults experienced the consequences of lockdown.

This paper is presenting the data from a study conducted with 4 th year students, who are to become teachers. The purpose of the study was to determine the perceptions of the aspiring teachers concerning social justice issues. Moreover the study is researching the level of understanding young teachers have about the idea and the content of social justice. Also the study pursues to understand who the main factors are for shaping this perception concerning social justice. Furthermore and within this frame the subject of how the gender affects the understanding of inequality is also taken in account. The data were collected with the method of structured interview and their analysis reveals the following: a) they shape their perceptions about social justice through the definition of social injustice, b) social justice is about treating students from different social class or origin (refugees) equally, by giving equal educational opportunities, reducing inequality, providing equal learning environments, c) when authority is unjust and creates situations of social injustice the emotional and psychological impact is profound, d) a teacher must evolve social justice throughout his teaching and by using democratic practices such as: fair of unfair with the students, a free and democratic spirit in the classroom, open discussions and dialogue about social and political issues, empathy, student centered teaching methods, although they believe that teaching and nurturing social justice is not an easy task, e) no differentiations were noticed concerning the influence of gender in behavior (equality, social awareness and social responsibility).

The main result of the study showed a weakness of consciousness and student stress due mainly to the inadequacy of social relationships, daily social contact with people who managed the same situation highlighting the importance of social capital and socialization in dealing with real life situations. The research found an unprecedented stressful situation of students that manifested itself with a lot of intensity and explosive situations (crying before and after exams, provocative behavior, great anger, disorganization, withdrawal desire, tension, conflicts, physical discomfort, intense anxiety and stress). The research also aims to conduct a scientific discussion of the conclusions regarding the conditions created for young people in the context of internment and iso...

Facing this reality, the modern educational systems are obliged to upgrade their traditional methods by adapting practices and processes to multimodality and visual literacy. Based on M.A.K. Halliday's three metafunctions of non-verbal communication, Gunter Kress's and Theo van Leeuwen's Grammar of Visual Design could provide a very useful methodological tool in analyzing each textbook's visual material. The authors of this survey have focused on the relationship among the represented participants and the observer, by emphasizing on every representation's arrangement of structural elements, use of perspective and social distance. After analyzing each image, they make didactic proposals by exploiting a variety of techniques. The research was being conducted on the 6 th grade's History textbook, which covers the historical period from 1453 to now. Regarding the ideological and didactical expectations of the illustration, the findings proved very useful.

A democratic citizen is defined as a citizen who is personally responsible, participatory, and oriented towards social justice and has the will to work for the realization of democratic ideals. The key issues the study focuses on are: What school practices contribute to the preparation of democratic citizens? What is meant by the open / positive climate of the classroom and how is it related to the strengthening of citizenship according to research data? The main purpose of the study is to reflect and raise awareness about the democratic conditions we must ensure in schools, to avoid the erosion of institutions and the rejection or loose commitment to the rules of democracy.

However, no European country has developed a social policy with appropriate precautionary measures to address logistical and political-cultural problems arising from the movement of large numbers of displaced people, problems that concern not only the host countries but also the countries of origin of immigrants. And although discussions at the level of studies on the immigration problem and its effects on the dominant culture have started too early, there is still a lack of research on the cultural side of migration and its implications for the political cultures of the host countries. Only isolated cases of reactions and discussions about the immigration policy of countries that welcome immigrants can be found in the literature. The present study first describes the situation that has been developed in Greece and Europe in the last five years by ...

The globalization of social life with the possibility of expanding and legitimizing democracy initially gave the impression that the establishment of a stable democratic order in a country as an undertaking is not difficult. However, through a historical review of the evolution of the globalization of the economy, which has brought considerable benefits to the production and accumulation of wealth, the system's inability...
