PPP is expected to achieve additional value for money through efficiency and higher quality of services. Nevertheless, PPPs are very complex and expensive. In order to construct a PPP, large preparation and bidding costs arise and, as a result, only very specific and complex projects are granted the option to be considered for PPPs. The acute need for infrastructure and the lack of financial resources have led the government of Iraq towards the privatization of infrastructure. Began with the privatization of telecommunications and oil sectors since 2003, the process of privatizing infrastructure service provision in Iraq is still in its initial phases. At first, I thank God for enabling me to achieve this research.

However, this industry is faced by various types of uncertainties and risks due to their dynamic environment, particularly for megaprojects. The study aimed to determine the modern and effective cost control techniques that are utilized in for mega construction projects in the U.K. A mixed-method approach that involves both qualitative and quantitative approaches were adopted in this research for data collection and analysis. Five semi-structured interviews with construction professionals were conducted first to find out modern and effective techniques used for projects cost control. This is followed by carrying out Delphi survey twice with 42 and 39 construction professionals. Results revealed that the top five techniques that can be utilized for controlling megaproject costs were: Activity-based costing method, Contract Variance-Unit Costing, To-Complete Performance Index (TCPI), Cost-Value Reconciliation and BIM.

Consequently, water utilization has grown sevenfold. Moreover, the proportion of the total populace living in water-stressed nations is expected to develop from presently 33 % to 66 % by 2025 [1]. Infrastructure projects such as water supply systems, highways, tunnels, airports, and power plants are characterized as large-scale projects and a complex venture that takes many years to develop. These projects connect multiple public and private stakeholders and have a direct impact on millions of people [2]. Existing infrastructures are one of the most important differential aspects of developing countries. The critical factors of success (CSF) in water supply projects are likely to differ compared to other infrastructure projects [3, 4] Several scholars have studied the CSF in construction projects in general such as (Sharma [5]; Asgari et al. [6]; Gunduz and Yahya [7]; Panchal [8]; Tamgadge and Shinde [9]; Mbiti [10]; Silva et al. [11]; Osorio et al. [12]; Pakseresht and Asgari [13]; Tabish and Jha [14]; and Saqib et al. [15]. In Iraq, there is a lack of studies that investigate the CSF in water supply projects. In addition, there is even less research regarding the causal impacts between these factors and project objectives. Moreover, the Iraqi contracting companies find a big number of challenges to effectively manage projects in an environment with poor supplies, security threats, unskilled workforce,

The protection methods and procedures were developed and adapted to suit all fields of the life specially the industry fields, Green Management (GM) considered one of the important methods for this purpose because it provides the bases for environmental conservation. Industry of construction shares a high percentage of the world economy as well as adverse influence on the environment as natural. The current paper tries to set the challenges and benefits of adopting the GM in Iraqi industry of construction throughout exploring the important Factors (main and sub-Factors) that affect the applications of the GM as well as the motivation factors. To achieve this goal a review of literatures was performed to collect the effecting factors, then these Factors were evaluated by the experts using questionnaire survey and the questionnaire results were analyzed utilizing Process of Analytical Hierarchy (AHP). The results revealed that the main factors are the financial factors and the Project-related and technical factors with 23% and 19% of important respectively. Accordingly, the conclusions were extracted with a set of recommendations which mainly state the important role of the Iraqi government in the application of GM in the industry of construction.

It is based on the technique of survival of the fittest and natural selection. GA has been used in different sectors of construction and building however that is rarely documented. This research aimed to examine the utilisation of genetic algorithms in construction project management. For this purpose, the research focused on the benefits and challenges of genetic algorithms, and the extent to which genetic algorithms is utilised in construction project management. Results showed that GA provides an ability of generating near optimal solutions which can be adopted to reduce complexity in project management and resolve difficult problems associated with multi-modal, noisy, high dimensional and discrete functions. However, with a range of benefits, there are multiple challenges as well such as GA can be time consuming to restore the images and may provide partial solution to the problem.

This thesis studies the concepts of PPP, advantages and disadvantages of PPP. In addition, current Iraq infrastructure projects situations and needs, as well as, some aspects relating to the Iraq’s construction market, legal and contract systems were discussed. A financial model was carried out and applied to a real-life case study project. Finally, a survey targeted researchers; public and private- sectors were applied.

These features make the application of specifications and codes more difficult. Occupational Safety requirements in project is also difficult to be implemented and monitored due to the unique features of this industry. The aim of the study is to propose a new method that will determine the performance and management of the occupational safety in the construction site, in order to increase the safety at work in the private construction sector in Iraq. Another purpose of this evaluation is to establish a fundamental point that can be graded according to the safety index for the Iraqi construction industry. The information has been collected through a checklist and a questionnaire; the study focused on data collection paradigm and framework based on a fuzzy logic approach, which is especially able to evaluate the efficiency and monitorin...

However, in the developing countries, particularly in Iraq, these projects experience a lack of a large number of these necessities, which shows the need to identify the critical success factors (CSFs). Accordingly, the objectives of this research are to investigate the CSFs for WSP and their significance among the construction (public and private) and education sectors. To achieve this, first we have carried out a comprehensive literature review of the CSFs for WSP. Second, we administrated a questionnaire survey to 260 construction experts working in the construction and education sectors. It was found that the top five important success factors for water supply projects in Iraq were a stable political environment; sustainable construction legislation and regulation; effective risk management practices; well-organized and committed projec...
