Republic of Ragusa. The corpus is the transcription of a letter from 1415 written by Gundulić about the Bosnian
nobels’ conspiracy to murder Count Pavle Radinović in Parena Poljana. Our goal is to present the phonetic changes
and explain the specificities of phonetic changes in the language of the Ragusean chancellery in regards to the
contemporary Venetian. We want to determine the percentage of certain changes and how many oscillations there
are in the adaptation of one single word, and show examples of using those words in context. We analysed phonetic
changes in the vowel and consonant sytems as well as the general ones.
The main hypothesis of our research is that the fifteenth century language shows that the Venetian language inflences the language of the Ragusean chancellery. Therefore, this paper can serve as a starting point for future
research in the domain of language characteristics of this variation of the Italian language
