via: various fen peeps from my flist (effervescent , anatsuno , legomymalfoy ) (I read my flist every day or every other day, but don't post nearly as much as I used to, coz duh) Anywho....
Anyone who has/knows of a journal or community that has been inactive for more than 24 months will want to keep an eye on this post.
LJ is first doing a purge of suspended/deleted accounts, but then will be moving on to inactive journals/communities. This could potentially affect rp journals and communities (I can think of a couple of big ones in the HP fandom, at least) as well as deceased lj-ers as well as those who simply left LJ more than 24 months ago.
So, for my part, I will be posting this here and unplottables . I don't think these comms will get purged, but just in case, I want to give a fair heads up.
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the text of the Knight2King/7Moves=7Years theories from this long-ago post. It was my favorite theory back in the day, and I'd like to show it to my friend, but the Knight2King website seems to be really messed up. (I'm getting boxes instead of text...)
Yes, I know the series is done and the theory got debunked. Just the same, lizardlaugh and I agreed that renewing the site and it's resources was not worth the cost, especially since the servers were in the UK and now they charge in sterling (sp?), it just wasn't worth it.
There are a tremendous amount of issues with this, and you absolutely should read through the Biz post, but I wanted to inform you in the short-term....

WARNING: There are now official, real spoilers in the wild. Photographs of every page have been leaked on bittorrent. There are already reports of trolls posting very spoilery comments in unrelated threads on various websites, so be careful!
It would seem there are scanned pages of the epilogue online of DH. So with that signal, I'm locking down all the communities I own to the following settings:
Nobody can join the community until further notice after the DH is out. New entries must be approved by a moderator. Only Select Members may post. Only some members are able to post, once a maintainer gives them access. Only members can post.
Additionally, I would suggest turning off mail notifications on any and all your LJs, if you don't want to be spoiled. Most of LJ has been really good about this. I've stayed away from most mass media, but this week is going to be a hard one to get through.
Also, Stay VIGILANT in non-fandom places. This is the most often place people end up getting spoiled.
I am posting this theory even though I hate it and don't really believe it. I wrote it against my own will. It's not very well written or even conclusive. But still, I figure someone might get a kick out of it. I did. In other words, I feel like I'm writing for The Quibbler.
no spoilers. Pure crappy speculation that in all probability is a load of dragon dung.
“But why,” Hermione persisted, “why on earth would Voldemort want to use Sirius[?]”
“I dunno, there could be loads of reasons!” yelled Harry at her…
“You know what, I’ve just thought of something,” said Ron in a hushed voice. “Sirius’ brother was a Death Eater, wasn’t he? Maybe he told Sirius the secret…”
“Yeah—and that’s why Dumbledore’s been so keen to keep Sirius locked up all the time!” said Harry.
“Look, I’m sorry,” cried Hermione, “but neither of you is making sense…”
“I expect Potter will be reunited with dear Sirius before I am reunited with Lucius.”
Sirius Black is Evil… sort of… maybe... ...and he’s not dead… sort of… well, maybe...
This is final hours for last minute theories to take shape.
I've fully embraced the Ms. Marple side of me. It's not only fun to theorize (and the more crazy the better) and create these convoluted plots, but man, it's so in the spirit of Harry Potter.
Occulm's Razor has no place in literature in general and Harry Potter in particular. End of story.
JKR not only loves crack pot theories, she is a creator of them. And I don't mean just because she peppers her books with misbehaving sneakascopes and flying motorcycles. I'm saying because we have stories where pet rats end up being old school buddies. Hell, if I heard these plots before I read the books, I'd toss those theorists into St. Mungo's.
I think that JKR put Luna in there for us kindred spirits. Note also, Luna and I are both Ravenclaws.
While I am eager to get in my last thoughts and theories, I have to say that I don't think Dealthy Hallows will be the end of speculation. There will be naysayers (those that claim that if it isn't spelled out in canon, it's not true), but many of us plotters will still go on. You know why? Five hundred years later, we're still heatedly discussing whether or not Gertrude from Hamlet participated in the murder of her husband. Just because the story is finished and the author has said everything she has to say, doesn't mean that there isn't room for debate and suggestion.
No spoilers, I solemnly swear. [Unless, of course, I happen to be right, and not only does that not count, but it's also highly unlikely.] I am spoiler free. It is completely just speculation.
The best way though, is just don't read any more of your comments and stay away from the internet.
Yes, sadly, there are already spoilers out there, as there are reports of books being shipped to stores already and all kinds of crazy stuff, that I don't even want to repeat here.
From now until further notice, all posts and comments to the unplottables will be screened to prevent any of our readers from being spoiled while reading this community. After that all comments will be unscreened once again.
Theory/Observation: What could happen to the Weasleys during Deathly Hallows. *Author/Theorist*: Myself (childthief_liar), though it was posted on my writing journal amyisctl Character(s) and/or artifact(s): Weasley family and Harry Abstract/summary: A look at each member of the Weasley family, their chances of death in Deathly Hallows, the effect of their death on Harry and the wizarding world, and in what situations the deaths could occur. Supporting evidence: Most everything I take is from canon, though I don't cite page numbers. The places that the possible deaths could occur are all based off what has been stated in previous books and their actions in them. Notes: Just so you are warned, this is roughtly 5000 words. Any mistakes that you may pick up on or something important you believe that I missed I would love to hear about. Warning: There are most definitely spoilers for the first six books.
ok, so i'm new here, and i have this really metaphorical theory...but no website will accept it. so i'm hoping that i can get it up here and into the open...well, i'll get to the point.
Theory/Observation: Sirius and Remus were together. *Author/Theorist*: iluvhughj0525 Character(s) and/or artifact (s): Sirius Black and Remus Lupin Abstract/summary: Basically, it's evidence that Sirius and Remus could've had a metaphorical relationship. Supporting evidence: Contains spoilers for books 3-6. Oh, and some may regard this as "slashy," so I wouldn't read it if that upsets you. xD
Theory/Observation: harry as the last horcrux *Author/Theorist*: annabelloni Character(s) and/or artifact (s): harry Supporting evidence: this is purely theoretical - speculation. so don't shoot me down too bad!!
Theory/Observation: Regulus Black is still alive. *Author/Theorist*: lunylucy Character(s) and/or artifact (s): Regulus Black, Voldemort. Abstract/summary: Based on Voldemort's graveyard monologue from Book 4. Supporting evidence: It's under the cut. Spoilers for "Goblet of Fire" and hardly-spoilers for "Half-Blood Prince"
Author/Theorist: Me. Characters and/or artifacts: Oh, everything. Paricularly, Snape and the person who wants to make him look bad. Abstract/summary: JKR is a three trick pony. The forumlas for books 1, 2, and 3 repeat in 4, 5, 6 and will again in 7. ( Supporting Evidence:Collapse )
Hello! I'm new here. A friend recommended that I post my essay/theory here.
Theory/Observation: McGonagall is evil, a Death Eater, and possibly Voldemort's most devoted and trusted servant. *Author/Theorist*: Me (a.k.a. goldenmoonrose, Kelsey) Character(s) and/or artifact (s): McGonagall and other villians (see below cut) Abstract/summary: McGonagall is very suspicious and she often hinders the good guys, never really doing anything of value. JKR is such a good writer, we must assume that McGonagall has a bigger purpose. The seventh book needs a final grand reveal, and--in every mystery--it's the person we least suspect. Supporting evidence: see below cut
SPOILERS for all six books. All page numbers are from US editions.
Hey, everyone! hp_speculation here to let you know that Jo has opened up her Room of Requirement once more. Under the cut, you can find out all about how to get in and what to look for and what the prize is.
Hey, everyone! Jo's updated her site today, as I'm sure most of you all know. So here, below the cuts, are explanations of what she's updated with a few pictures of the different parts of the site where you can see the updates.
I made all the screen captures myself and put this thing together and it took ages since I got a phonecall from ixchelmala that woke me up and then immediately sat up and opened my laptop. My brain is jelly now. I hope you all enjoy it!
It'll be a little picture heavy and very spoilery, so if you want to find it out for yourself, Do Not Look Under The Cut!
Theory/Observation: Snape is actually good *Author/Theorist</i>*: Me, toot_ricky Character(s) and/or artifact (s): Snape, Dumbledore, Harry Abstract/summary: Snape is good Supporting evidence: Evidence within the cut Notes: ( HBP spoilers, Theory on SnapeCollapse )
