Il remarque aussi les analogies et les differences entre l'approche ethnographique et celle de l'anthropologique sociale.

This essay was originally a lecture given in Hungarian in Pécs, Hungary, at a conference on Afric... more This essay was originally a lecture given in Hungarian in Pécs, Hungary, at a conference on African Globalities/Global Africans, the 4th Pécs African Studies Conference on June 9-10, 2016. It starts its analysis with the ancient Greeks, since when, and even more so since Hegel, we have known that in the fields of both thinking and actions, along theses and antitheses, then with luck, along syntheses, “welter” the phrasing of notions and conceptions and the debates over them as well as everyday and historical events. We also know that syntheses many times are born with difficulty. What is more, in many cases, series of theses and antitheses get to grips with each other for a long period of time without the hope of creating a synthesis. And of course, to open the gates elsewhere: this old-world syllogism, as a reflective model, is not sufficient for the interpretation of the realistic and mental entity that inundates us. The result of this correspondence is the present invaluable material, which contains Jan Vansina's views and positions on the role and importance of collecting folklore, the interpretations of ethnohistory in Africa and elsewhere around the world, including the political use of folklore. This material deserves to be published, even if it has already been printed in Hungarian. Though Vansina was a prolifi c author, in these letters he formulates some of his insights in a more direct and more deliberate way than elsewhere, thus this text is worthy of the attention of future generations anywhere in the world." This paper seeks to offer on overview of many of Magyar’s observations in different fields of the natural sciences, which so far has not yet been discussed in details. Looking into his legacy, we can reveal many of his talents and knowledge in map-making, geography, agriculture, or demography, which may provide further ideas for more scientific research.

Ha Afrika gazdaságát kulturális, társadalmi és legfőképpen gazdasági antropológiai oldaláról is v... more Ha Afrika gazdaságát kulturális, társadalmi és legfőképpen gazdasági antropológiai oldaláról is vizsgáljuk, kiderül, hogy a globális közelítésmód számos területen és vonatkozásban tévútra vezet(het). Hiszen az egész kontinensre kitekintő nemzetközi statisztikákban nem szerepelnek az önellátásából adódó jövedelmek kevéssé számszerűsíthető adatai. Másrészt nem követhetők nyomon az egyes országok, még inkább az egyes etnikumok között adódó jelentős különbségek. Nem érzékelhetőek a helyi háborúk gazdasági következményei sem. Sőt az sem, hogy az egyes etnikumok között emberi adottságai folytán mekkora különbségek adódnak produkciós képességeiket illetően. A tanulmány példák sorával igyekszik alátámasztani e kérdésfeltevések valóságtartalmát, és szorgalmazni Afrika gazdaságának vizsgálatát e másféle megközelítés alapján.
