Tested the assumption that in cognitive processes, the only information that is considered is tha... more Tested the assumption that in cognitive processes, the only information that is considered is that which is directly related to the stressed cognitive task. For instance, similarity judgments are assumed to result from feature comparison, i.e., only configurative (conceptual, semantic) components of the scaled objects are of relevance, while associations to other memory contents (contextual, episodic information) are irrelevant. Results of this study indicate that similarity judgments of relatively stable (concrete, iconic coded) concepts are affected by verbal contents that were learned between 1st and 2nd similarity judgments.
