
Souad AZIZI
Dr Souad Azizi holds a PhD in Social Anthropology and Ethnology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, in Paris. She works as professor and researcher at La Faculté des Lettres et des Sciences Humaines, in Mohammedia and has published articles and book chapters in the fields of Berber ethnology, urban anthropology, visual anthropology and virtual ethnography. She is the founder and coordinator of the Réseau URIM (a research network on the uses and representations of the Internet in Morocco) and has directed a collective book, L’Internet au Maroc: Militantismes, sociabilités et solidarités numériques. Since January 2019, she is a member of the Scientific Council of OpenEdition (electronic infrastructure for academic communication in the humanities and social sciences).

She then looks at the customary institutions structuring male/female relations in the tribes of the Sous.
Finally, the author examines the ways in which hierarchical social relations (sheriff/non-sheriff, man/woman, and seniors/juniors) are legitimized and perpetuated.
