Michel Kaplan

I have been assistant professor, then associate professor, then professor of Byzantine History at University Paris 1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne). I am now emeritus. My main concern are economic history, mainly rural economy and religious history understood as the study of the place of monk, clerics and saints in Byzantine society.
