Rezumat: În acest material este semnalată prezenţa unui cuptor de uz meşteşugăresc la intersecţia bulevardului Ferdinand cu str. General Manu, în imediata apropiere a zidului de incintă roman târziu al Tomisului, în spaţiul intra muros. Acest complex a fost descoperit şi parţial cercetat în octombrie 2013, cu ocazia unor lucrări de infrastructură. Abstract: In this paper, we would like to point out the presence of a craftsman's kiln situated at the crossroads between Ferdinand Boulevard and General Manu Street in Constantza, right next to the Tomis city's Late‐Roman defensive wall. This archaeological complex was discovered and partly investigated during the public interest works in October 2013.

Abstract The article presents five Roman tombs discovered in Tomis during construction works in 2012 – 2013. The earliest, discovered in the crossroad of Tomis Boulevard with Cpt. Constantin Turcanu Street is a cremation grave dating from the first half of the I st century AD. Together with other burials of the same time period previously discovered in its surroundings, this new discovery suggests a more frequent use of this area of the necropolis of Tomis during Late – Hellenistic – Early Roman times. Two other ancient, possibly Roman burials, that did not yield finds appeared on nr. 4 bis, Siretului Street. Other two Roman graves, also without any inventory, were discovered on nr. 23, Cpt. Petre Romulus Street. One of them raises the suspicion of a Sarmatian burial. It also had limestone bases from its funerary monument still in place. Rezumat În articol sunt prezentate cinci morminte romane descoperite la Tomis cu ocazia diverselor lucrări de construcție în 2012 – 2013. Cel mai timpuriu, descoperit la intersecția Bvd. Tomis cu Str. Cpt. Constantin Turcanu, este un mormânt de incinerație din prima jumătate a sec. I p. Chr. Împreună cu alte morminte cu aceeași datare descoperite anterior în vecinătatea lui, noul complex contribuie la conturarea unei zone din cadrul necropolei Tomisului care pare să fi fost utilizată mai frecvent în perioada elenistică târzie și la începutul celei romane. Alte două morminte, posibil romane, fără inventar, au fost descoperite pe Str. Siretului, nr. 4 bis. Două morminte, de asemenea fără inventar, au apărut pe Str. Cpt. Petre Romulus, nr. 23. Unul dintre ele ridică suspiciuni pentru o etnicitate sarmată a defunctului. Complexul avea și baze de calcar de la monumentul funerar in situ la momentul descoperirii.

In this article, the authors present some Roman Age graves discovered during preventive archeolog... more In this article, the authors present some Roman Age graves discovered during preventive archeology carried out in the necropoleis of Tomis between 2014 – 2016. They also point out recent discoveries of ditches found nearby the graves dating from the same period, that hint the possibility of cemetery plotting during Roman times in Tomis.
