
Gianluca Volpi
Graduated at University of Trieste with a degree in History. Following research conducted in Hungary in 1989, 1991 and 1996, I got my PhD at the University of Padova in 1999. From 1999 to 2001 I was a teacher of Szent László (Saint Ladislaus) High School in Budapest, in 2000 and 2001 Lecturer at the Department of Italian Studies in the University of Pécs. I continued my career in the University of Udine, first as a junior Research Fellow (2001-2004), then as Research Fellow (2005 to present). I'm member of the Italian Society for Eastern European Studies (AISSECO) and the Center for Hungarian and East-Central European Studies (CISUECO). My fields of research include modern Hungarian History, the History of Hungarian-Italian Relations as well as the memories and Cultural Heritage of World War I in East-Central Europe, Jewish History in the Carpathian Basin from Enlightment to Holocaust.
