Katia Pilati

I am Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Research at the University of Trento where I teach Social Movements and Sociology of Collective Action. Before joining the Department, I was a Marie Curie fellow at the Department of Political Science at the University of Geneva (Switzerland), and a FRS-FNRS research fellow at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). My main research interests are social movements, civil society, political participation, social networks, protests in repressive contexts, and migrants’ political participation. My work appeared in Acta Political, Acta Sociologica, European Journal of Political Science, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Global Networks, Mobilization, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Social Movement Studies and includes three books (Armando 2010, Palgrave 2016, Il Mulino 2018).
