Join a United Spinal Association Virtual Group

United Spinal Association offers virtual support and resource groups on various topics. Additionally, our up-to-date events calendar includes peer groups and social gatherings offered by our chapters and hospital members. Something is happening most days, so check in often.

One popular virtual support group is our weekly social hour, which meets on Zoom every Thursday at 1 p.m. Eastern. This gathering gives attendees a chance to meet new people, catch up with old friends and chat about whatever is on their minds with fellow community members. There is also an 8 p.m. Eastern social hour to accommodate West Coast participants. Everyone is welcome to either or both.

Here are direct links to United Spinal Association’s virtual support and resource groups:

  • Advocacy Live: Collaborate with fellow advocates on the third Tuesday of every month, alternating times at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern.
  • Rolling into Parenthood: Benefit from the experiences and support of your peers who are living with a disability and are adjusting to parenthood. This group meets every second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Eastern.
  • Rolling With Pride: All disabled members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies are welcome to attend this virtual support group that meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 1 p.m. Eastern.
  • Resource Center Live: Join our Community Supports team to have your questions answered about health and wellness, new spinal cord injury, financial assistance, traveling, sports and recreation, and more! This event occurs every fourth Wednesday at 4 p.m. Eastern.
  • TechTalks: Collaborate and share about accessible technology with other wheelchair users every second Thursday at 5 p.m. Eastern or on every fourth Wednesday at 3 p.m. Eastern. Detailed notes from the meetings about strategies and technologies are posted on United’s Tech Access Initiative
  • United Spinal Social Hour (Day): Join us for our weekly social hour that meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. Eastern.
  • United Spinal Social Hour (Night): Join us for our weekly social hour that meets every Thursday at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Many of our chapters and hospital members offer virtual support groups open to people affected by SCI/D, no matter where they live. For example, the Greater Boston Chapter runs 11 groups on topics ranging from women’s issues to a kids’ group. Since they meet online, members don’t need to live in Boston to attend.
