Catalogues are a notable example of this trend, since when configured as a database their potential increases considerably. Numisdata Sardinia is part of this trend and is the result of the application of this working model on 376 coin finds, from the Terralba area (Sardinia). Numisdata, a data management system based on Dédalo, has been used to produce numismatic catalogues with instant control over the web publication of its contents.
The purpose of this project has been to know the role of coinage in the Punic rural context and, later, the Roman period. The research has confirmed that the coinage in circulation in Sardinia during the third century BC was eminently Punic (60% of the findings), with bronzes minted in Sardinia and possibly in Carthage and Sicily.
The percentage of coin finds decreases during the Republican and Imperial period, The Republican coin sample amounts to 20% of the total, slightly more than 15% for the imperials, which shows that during the first centuries of Roman rule there were no substantial changes in the occupational structure of the territory.
