For this purpose, a structured questionnaire comprising all variables has been developed. Results provide partial support for the outlined hypotheses: family income and levels of indebtedness are related to individuals' perception of their financial situation; however, those perceptions don't seem to determine consumption habits, because these are defined by income level and many other elements, among which is attitude toward debt. Anyway, responsible consumption improves individuals' satisfaction with their own behavior; this subjective well-being is related to more favorable perceptions of the economic situation. In light of the results, implications of personal factors and macro-social context are discussed.

This publication is a result of an initial work that provides a conceptual analyses and review, within a line of research that the authors are developing, the aim of which is to establish the characteristics that determine the current consumer behaviour and the actual patterns of conduct that make it possible to devise a new contextual psycho-economic model with regard to consumer behaviour. This work is an exhaustive theoretical review of the numerous authors, theories and models concerning consumer behaviour considered from 1935 to 2021.

We conducted a data collection survey of historical records from the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences. The sample (n = 310) is composed of homicide victims in 2007 in the departments of Atlántico and Magdalena. We found that 93.5 % of the victims were male. Most of the victims (38.7 %) were found in the age range between 21 and 30 years old. A high percentage (32.9 %) of the victims were unmar- ried. The most common racial trait was the “mestizo” (94.2 %). A percentage of 48.4 % of the victims had a height between 161 and 170 cms. The days with higher incidence of killings were Mondays (19 %) and Fridays (18.4 %). The places where most of the murders happened were “in public” places with a percentage of 33.2 %. The most common number of bullet impacts was “2” with a 21.3 %. The most common body region impacted was on the head. Finally t...

For doing it, first of all, the main theoretical elements are synthesized. Then, taking a sample of 406 people coming from the medium and high social levels living in Barranquilla (Colombia), enough empiric evidence to validate the theoretical model was found. The Structural Equations Modeling was used with the software AMOS 5.0 version.

professionals, impulsive buying has only recently received attention from mental health professionals. The current instrumental study has examined some psychometric properties
of the Scale of Habits and Consumption Behaviors (Denegri, Palavecinos, Ripoll, and
Yáñez) in a Colombian population sample (N = 406). The scale comprising 19 items,
reflexive-impulsive consumption behaviors subscales were suggested. Results of
confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) showed a poor fit to the data of models based on
previous research. Exploratory factor analysis provided five factors, only three of them
showed well-interpretable correlations and high internal consistency: quality of the
product (a = 0,81), purchase planning (a = 0,80), and responsible use of credit (a =
0,85). Also, these three dimensions were distinguishable using CFA. Implications of
our results concerning factor structure and construct validity of the scale are discussed.
KEYWORDS. Consumption habits. Impulsive buying. Use of credit. Reliability.

This work describes different consumer profiles in Colombian young adults from high and medium socioeconomic levels. A sample of 25 to 34 year old individuals was drawn. Objective criteria such as income level and credit card and debt status, together with psychological, subjective criteria, such as perception of finances, attitude towards credit, purchase planning, and product quality were measured. A cluster analysis produced three consumer psychoeconomic profiles. A discriminant analysis corroborates the results. Implications of the results and new research perspectives are here discussed.
