Scholars recognize BT as a disruptive innovation that has the potential to revolutionize the management of tourism processes and enhance traveler experiences. However, despite this growing interest, the literature on BT's application in the tourism sector is still in its early stages compared to other internet-related technologies. This research paper addresses the gap in understanding the challenges and opportunities of implementing and accepting BT within tourism. Specifically, it focuses on the critical aspects of security and trust, as they play pivotal roles in influencing tourists' behavioral intentions towards BT adoption. The study extends the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model, incorporating security and trust as relevant antecedents, to comprehensively examine the dynamics driving BT adoption within the tourism context. The proposed model and findings contribute to filling the gaps in existing literature and offer valuable information for tourism players and policymakers to formulate strategies promoting BT acceptance in the tourism sector. By advancing understanding of BT adoption factors and end users' perspectives, this research facilitates the industry's transition towards integrated and seamless experiences for travelers, thus shaping the future of tourism through blockchain technology.

The aim of this paper is to systematize the literature on the topic, in order to better clarify the concept of entrepreneurial creativity in its main features and components. The issue still shows rather fragmented contributions on the concept of entrepreneurial creativity in different disciplines, within a very complex multidimensional construct. Therefore, we propose a literature review whose main purpose is to get to an overview of the state-of-art on entrepreneurial creativity and to identify still unanswered issues within this stream of research.

Today’s students will compete in a technological, diverse, multi-cultural world and must be prepared to thrive in this futuristic environment. Therefore, it is vital that today’s pedagogy produce lifelong learners, who can succeed in a global pulpit. To ensure our educational technology progresses at the rate demanded by today’s ubiquitous digital learners, we review emerging technologies and traditional teaching methods and propose desirable changes. Future companies will need employees with specific Internet of Things connected additive manufacturing skills across the value stream, including computer-aided design, machine operation, raw material development, robotics and supply chain management; but these are only island of exce...

The definitive customer would experience manufacturing requests determined by artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automated technologies linked with data science support for gauging customer necessities. Phenomenally, Industry 4.0 is rapidly changing the firm's management and organizational systems, and competencies, as well as making its environment much more explored, even if more complexed than in the past. This new industrial revolution would possess systems with transformative technologies for managing interconnected systems between its physical assets and computational capabilities. Such enterprises would require skilled workforce to improve and operate advanced manufacturing tools and systems, and investigate the machine data, clients, and global capitals, resulting in an escalating need for trained employees proficient in cross-fu...

Event managers and socioinstitutional actors are increasingly looking at events as a mechanism to enhance tourism development in the regions where the events are organized. Therefore, the empowerment of residents and their involvement in the process of territorial development becomes of paramount importance. In this sphere, service-dominant logic is the main theoretical framework of interest, as it embraces the assumption that a host community's involvement in the process of valuation of local traditions, environment, and knowledge of the territory is an essential factor in both tourist and cultural events. Service-dominant logic enables all social and economic actors to be recognized as key actors in resource integration, service provisioning, and value cocreation. Further...

The paper draws a systematic literature review methodology to answer the research questions through an overview of current debate on dynamic capabilities and knowledge-based dynamic capabilities. This methodology puts in evidence that there are still unresolved theoretical aspects due to the lack of empirical works. Indeed, this research aims to make a contribution to the current literature on dynamic capabilities, trying to cover the existing gaps and directing the further research efforts. This paper has a significant implication for the understanding of value creation process.

These objectives are verified in an empirical setting. It has been conducted a statistical survey on tourism firms operating in Italy, and through a dependent analysis, we have verified a very low real approach towards the idea of a governing pivotal actor in these well developed tourist areas. The current study has verified whether and to what extent distrust persists and if the diffusion of trust depends on the presence of leading actors also comparing the 2 areas.

We focus empirically on a selected sample of firms in airline industry, in order to check if personnel's productivity creates value, thus contributing to firm performance and sustainable competitive advantage. More precisely, this study analyzes how firms manage this relationship, understanding if a firm can express the local identity and to what extent this latter can be extended through without jeopardizing the essential soul of its products/services. The analysis is developed according to a double level that includes the recognition of both distinctive resources and competences and the specific relational capabilities necessary in the internationalization process. Furthermore, the strength of this paper is represented by the examination of different types of firms (single location full-service restaurants, chain restaurants and fast food restaurants) operating in the food service sector.

Our research questions are as follows. 'Is open innovation a rational strategy for a small restaurant to attract and maintain customers? Which open innovation strategies should a small restaurant use?' We constructed our research model of open innovation ecosystem of restaurants with ingredients open innovation, recipe open innovation and service open innovation to analyse open innovation in small restaurants, which is a worldwide phenomenon. We chose four successful restaurants from Naples, one restaurant from South Korea, and a North Korean restaurant as our case studies using participant observation, in-depth interviews and semi-structured questionnaires, with the results indicating the following. First, open innovation is essential for the success of small restaurants. Second, if any small restaurant adopts a closed innovation strategy with respect to any of food ingredients, recipes or service, it should choose an open innovation strategy or open innovation platform with regard to the others to maintain its competitive advantage compared to other restaurants in the neighbourhood. Third, an open innovation platform of any of food ingredients, recipes or service, can generate additional revenue by selling independent ingredients or services.

This is the reason why the current research deepens the literature on strategic entrepreneurship, adopting a specific focus on entrepreneurial capabilities.
Furthermore, the paper examines, through a case study analysis, two districts (Databenc and Visit Peak District & Derbyshire) in order to understand the exploited entrepreneurial capabilities in the star-up phase and its consequent commercialization.
The first contribution on the innovation in the service industry refers to Barras (1986) and his “reverse product cycle”, shading light on the technological dimension of innovation. Further studies on the theme open the boundaries of the research, identifying other fields of study on innovation in the service industry. Within them, the marketing and the relationship with the customers gain increasing attention from the scholars.
The aim of this paper is to investigate about the role of innovation in favoring the creation of a closer relationship between the firm and its customers through the use of the web and its tools, considering the importance they are gaining in the last years. We focus on the telecommunication sector, investigating about firms’ initiatives in identifying web tools that are able to support this process.
Design/methodology/approach - We adopt satisfaction surveys since they are useful in order to gather information about visitors’ experiences, asking them to rate their visits using a Likert scale and to provide opinion about different innovative tools.
Findings - Empirical results show that cultural products are not always perceived as valuable because of the lack of attention in promotional and valorization activities, in which innovation can have a key role in improving customers’ experience.
