The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) as one of the Nigerian regulatory bodies saddled with the responsibility of regulating and as well monitoring what goes into the air essentially via the electronic media for public consumption, is examined in relation to her broadcasting code with Nigerian popular music. Efforts were made to dissect some selected songs by observing their contents using NBC code as a periscope to examine these songs whether they are in tune with the cultural values and norms of the land as prescribed by the commission.
Recommendations were made accordingly after observing the selected songs in relation to the NBC code and societal values
