TALI MATERIALI FACEVANO PARTE DI UNA VASTA COLLEZIONE ANTIQUARIA SETTECENTESCA RACCOLTA DA UN NOBILE POLIZIANO: PIETRO BUCELLI (1684-1754), DI CUI SI CONOSCE POCO POICHÉ ESSA VENNE VENDUTA SENZA PUBBLICAZIONE. IL PRIMO CAPITOLO RACCOGLIE NOTIZIE DI RITROVAMENTI PROVENIENTI DA ALCUNI DOCUMENTI INEDITI CONSERVATI NELL’ARCHIVIO DI FAMIGLIA DEL COLLEZIONISTA. IL SECONDO CAPITOLO È IL CATALOGO DEI 106 MATERIALI COSTITUENTI ATTUALMENTE IL LAPIDARIO, MENTRE NEL TERZO SONO ESPOSTE ALCUNE CONSIDERAZIONI SUI RILIEVI DELLA ‘BOTTEGA DEGLI IPPOCAMPI ALATI ’ E SUL TRATTAMENTO DELLE SUPERFICI LAPIDEE IN TRAVERTINO. IN APPENDICE PROPONGO UN INTERVENTO DI CONSERVAZIONE E VALORIZZAZIONE DEL SINGOLARE MONUMENTO.

Heirs of the collector, the noble Pietro Bucelli of Montepulciano (in Tuscany, Italy), sold and dispersed hundreds of archaeological materials (especially etuscan and roman inscripted funerary urns but also ancient potteries and coins) so much that
nowadays we can locate surely only the urns welled up on the surface of the family - palace in Montepulciano (Palazzo Bucelli). Thanks to some lists of inscriptions of this collection, contained into the Archivio di Siena and the Archivio Storico dei Musei deli Uffizi di Firenze I identified more than one hundred etruscan and latin inscripted artifacts (urns and tiles), stored into the Villa Corsini in Florence.
After a brief introduction about the personal story of the collector and a first presentation of some documents from the archives, I catalogued each piece trying to analyze especially the relieves and the inscriptions.
In the third chapter I proposed the reconstruction of a III century BC etruscan "register of birth", starting from the family names of the Bucelli's inscriptions (talking
in particular about the family vete and lecne and their latinized form: "Vetti" and "Licini").
The last chapter is about a brief study of some relieves on etruscans urns in stone, underlining the importance the relief with gorgon head (gorgoneion) as a piece of'artistic craftsmanship'.
