
Gabi Scardi
Gabi Scardi is art critic, curator and writer.
She investigates art and the public sphere and contemporary collaborative methodologies.
Scardi was consultant for visual art for the Milan Provincial Authority, and curator at MAXXI, National Museum of XXI Century Arts in Rome.
She curated the Greek Pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennale (2015), as well as the restoration of Alberto Burri’s Teatro Continuo, Milan (2015).
Since 2011 she has been the curator of nctm e l'arte project.
Since 2020 she is co-director of Animot review.
Since 2019 she has been an active member of NAHR, Nature Art & Habitat Residency (Val Taleggio, Bergamo), and since 2019 she held the position of NAHR President.
Since 2021 she is a member of EoC - Ecologie of Care.
Since 2024 she is a member of CCW - Cultural Welfare Center.
She collaborates internationally with museums and institutions, curating solo shows, group shows and public projects, among them: Procuratie Vecchie, Venice; Pac, Milan; Museo del Novecento, Milan; Castello Sforzesco, Milan; Fondazione Pini, Milan; Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Venice; Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, Milan; MAXXI, Rome; Royal Academy, London; Louisiana Museum, Copenhagen.
Among the projects she curated, three were supported by Italian Council: Micol Roubini. The Magic Mountain, Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh, MAN, Nuoro, 2022; Chiaralice Rizzi e Alessandro Laita. The Memory of The Air, Marubi Museum, Skodar, Albania, MUFOCO, Milan, 2021; Emilio Fantin. Risvegli, Mambo, Bologna, Palazzo Barolo, Turin, University of Chicago, Chicago 2020.
She is director of the course in Socially Engaged Art, at Accademia Unidee, Fondazione Pistoletto, Biella.
She teaches Contemporary Art and Public Art at Università Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan; she taught art at several art schools and universities, and has been visiting professor in italian and foreign institutions.
