
Nneka Amalu
Nneka is a lecturer in the Department of History and International Studies, University of Calabar. She holds a B.A in the History of International Studies from the University of Calabar; M.A in Peace and Conflict Studies (with specialization in Human Security) from the University of Ibadan where she graduated with a distinction. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Peace and Conflict Studies (special focus on Caste Systems and Human Rights) in the Department of History and International Studies, University of Uyo. She is the recipient of the Winifred Akoda’s Prize Award for the Best Graduating Student in the department of History and International Studies, University of Calabar in the 2009/2010 session. Also, a winner of the Research Award for Sustainable Agriculture and Biotechnology 2016/2017 from the Support Africa International/Support Africa Foundation, Germany. She is well published in the areas of Human security, Peace Building, Conflict, Security and Development Studies. She is a member of the Historical Society of Nigeria, and Society for Peace Studies and Practice. She holds a diploma in French Language Studies from the Language Centre, Calabar, and is also certified in Program Development and Project Management. With over six years in the teaching and practice/consultancy field, Nneka is open to collaborations across the world as well as consultancy services.
