
Diana-Abasi Ibanga, PhD
Dr. Diana-Abasi Ibanga Francis is a Lecturer/Researcher in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Calabar, Nigeria. He had served as the Director, Redcom Centre for Research and Development; Director, Centre for Environmental Governance and Resource Management; Director, Centre for Research Methodology; and Corporate Secretary, Inspired Children Foundation. He had also held a teaching position as Lecturer at the Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic, Uyo. He obtained B.A. (Hons.) in Philosophy (2010), Master of Arts in Philosophy (with speciality in Applied Ethics) in 2012 and Master of Criminology (with speciality in Crime Mapping) in 2014 all from the University of Lagos as well as Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in 2016 and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in African Political Philosophy from the University of Calabar in 2019. He also holds Proficiency Certificate on Criminal Investigation (2014), Certificate of ICT Competence (2017), and Proficiency Certificate on Project Management (P6 & MS Project) (2019). Dr. Diana-Abasi Ibanga is the 2019 Winner of the maiden edition of the Sirkku Hellsten Prize on African Governance, Corporate Responsibility & Global Justice for his work “How to Ground Corporate Governance Practice on African Ethics” from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He has conducted research and published in the following areas: African political philosophy, African environmental ethics, Bioethics, Business ethics, Metaphysics, Philosophy of Education, Research Methodology, African Philosophy, Aesthetics, Continental Philosophy, Human Relations and Management, Forensic Epistemology, Criminology, Conflict Resolution and Indigenous Language Analysis. He has published 27 books and journal papers in reputable international journal as at 2019, including a Special Issue in Italy. His works has been cited severally by researchers across the world. He is a Reviewer to Filosofia Theoretica: Journal of African Philosophy, Culture and Religion (Scopus Indexed). He has presented research papers at nineteen (19) conferences in different parts of the world, including a Lead Paper at STIAS Wallenberg Research Centre in University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He has over 100 poems to his credit. He is a promoter of Indigenous Language Analysis (ILA) and an advocate of African Capitalism. He is a member of several professional bodies, including convener of the Niger Delta Studies Association. Dr. Diana-Abasi Ibanga is a University Lecturer, Research Consultant, and Dream Counsellor.
