
Christian Ruge
Christian Ruge is a graduate student in musicology at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany. He is an alumnus of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) and the Baden-Württemberg State Grant for Graduate Students (Landesgraduiertenförderung Baden-Württemberg). Christian is currently researching and writing a PhD thesis on the relationship between text and music in selected 16th century settings of the 'Song of Songs'. His research interests are sacred vocal music of the 16th and early 17th century (esp. Thomas Tallis), 19th century music (esp. Johannes Brahms), the German Lied, music in literature and philosophy (esp. Thomas Mann), and music of the British Isles.
