I am Professor of Cognitive Anthropology in the Department of Philosophy at Leipzig University.
Previsously, I was Junior Professor for Neurophilosophy at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Magdeburg. Prior to that, I was a Fellow in Philosophy at the LSE and Deputy Director of the Forum for European Philosophy. www.philosophy-forum.org
My research interests are in philosophy of mind and philosophy of the cognitive sciences/neuroscience. In particular, I am interested in self-consciousness, social cognition, nonconceptual content, the distinction between personal and subpersonal level explanations, and the nature and origins of normativity. I am also interested in philosophy of language, epistemology (in particular self-knowledge), animal cognition, and ethics (in particular animal ethics).
