Este texto pretende esbozar ciertas convergencias entre algunas ideas de la filosofía y la litera... more Este texto pretende esbozar ciertas convergencias entre algunas ideas de la filosofía y la literatura y mostrar la necesaria apertura de un mundo nuevo al que ambas nos llevan a través de la palabra. Porque no todo lo dicho es comprobable empíricamente y, sin embargo, todo lo tangible tiene la potencialidad de ser puesto en palabras e incluso ir más allá. Así, el lenguaje en tensión entre lo posible y lo imposible es capaz de crear un nuevo horizonte interpretativo de la realidad. En una especie de diálogo, expongo algunas ideas del turco Orhan Pamuk, premio Nobel de literatura (2006) y del ya bien conocido filósofo y hermeneuta francés Paul Ricoeur. Antes que poner uno frente al otro, trato de poner al filósofo junto al literato. Ambos tienen una propuesta que me parece fundamental: el texto como portador de significado, poseedor de un centro que le otorga el sentido y lo hace generador de un mundo nuevo.

Para poder partir de esta premisa es menester entender la relevancia de la vinculación entre arte y comunicación. El presente escrito busca mostrar la imposibilidad de su disociación en la realidad, así como los inconvenientes teóricos que ello conlleva. Si la guía para dicha justificación es la fenomenología hermenéutica se entienden con mayor claridad; el sentido no sólo cobra importancia al momento de interpretar, sino que es pieza clave en la comprensión del significado de la obra de arte. Sentido y significado serán indisociables para el análisis de cualquier tipo de expresión humana y, por ende, de todo estudio tanto del arte como de la comunicación.

Leaders and movements all around the world are building physical and virtual walls through narratives that aim to corrupt history in order to exclude the 'others', those that are seen as fundamentally different. Therefore, it is not only necessary but vital to remember the past in order to learn from it and there is no better space to do so than a museum. Consequently, museums can play a crucial role in counteracting post-truth discourses by sensitising people through art and other aesthetic expressions that can keep memories alive, bring the past to the present, or raise awareness of certain realities, provoking the viewers, fostering reflection, and stimulating some empathy towards the suffering and pain of the other. Museums are uniquely placed to appeal to those emotions which seem to dominate public opinion in this post-truth era.
