They crystallize in the rhombohedral system and are isomorphous to the corresponding rare-earth compounds. The magnetic susceptibilities and electrical resistivities of the Ru-and Am-based compounds have been measured; the actinide ions are found to be. trivalent in both compounds. No superconducting transition was found for Pu,+,Mo,Se, and AmI+,MosSee down to 2.5 and 3.5 K respectively, contrary to the case of Np,+,Mo,Se, for which T, = 5.6 K. The reasons of this different behavior are discussed.

The proposal focused on an audience that deserves attention with regard to a design product for everyday use, namely clothing that is suitable for a new physical constitution. The purpose of this article is to present the ergonomic, technical and aesthetic factors, considering the physical, psychological and social needs of this target group, for the development of clothing products. Considering the identified needs, materials and methods were suggested for the development of models with specific particularities, appropriate to the real condition of these elderly women. In addition to the bibliographic research carried out, specific methods were used to collect anthropometric measurements, surveys were implemented, and direct observation was also carried out with the target group. The results obtained demonstrated that the methods and techniques ap...

In addition to the natural aging process other adversities affect them leading to dependence of some activities such as their dressing skills. We aim to offer, according to the caregivers’ perspective, suggestions of more adapted clothing, considering the dependent seniors real limitations in order to provide them more comfort and ease the handling by the caregiver.

This research includes a study about clothing and accessories design and production needs for this growing niche of the world’s population. It presents part of the collected results to develop more ergonomic clothing, with special consideration on the ergonomic, thermo physiological and sensorial comfort variables. In particularly, the elderly population dependent of care was the main target of this study. A survey was applied to the caregivers in the cities of Guimaraes (Portugal) and Teresina (Brazil) to better understand their needs and the impact garments and accessories have in their daily tasks. The main goal of this study was to elaborate more comfortable clothing, emphasizing the flexibility, softness, adaptability and adjustability to this changing body.

The produced microcapsules were fully characterized in their morphology and chemical composition, and the kinetic release analysis of the active ingredient was evaluated after deposition in a non-woven cellulose fabric. The concentration of 1.00 and 1.45 wt% clearly show the best results in terms of dimension and shape of the microcapsules as well as in the volatility results. However, at the concentration of 1 wt% a higher number of microcapsules were produced as confirmed by FTIR and EDS analysis. Free microcapsules are spherical in size with disperse diameters between 2 and 12 μm. Immobilized microcapsules showed sizes from 4 to 7 μm, a rough surface and loss of spherical shape with pore formation in the chitosan walls. SEM analysis confirms that at higher NaOH concentrations, the larger the size of the microcapsules. This technique shows that by tuning NaOH concentration it is possible to efficiently control the release rate of encapsulated active agents demonstrating great potential as insect repellent for textiles.
