
Dr Elizabeth Achinewhu-Nworgu
Dr. Elizabeth Achinewhu-Nworgu is a UK-based Business Management with HRM and Law Lecturer in higher and further education and has worked for Local Authorities and National Health Service in the UK for over 35 years. She was also a TV presenter and a Business owner. She was an international consultant involved in various training and development initiatives. Elizabeth is the author of Determined to Succeed. She shares her inspiring journey from her childhood in the aftermath of the war in Nigeria to establishing successful family life, education, and career in the UK. She has studied, taught, and researched extensively in further and higher education in the UK, with a Doctorate Degree in Education that explored 'Strategies Promoting Student Retention. In addition to her Doctorate, she has a Master of Laws (LLM - International Human Rights Law), Master of Business Administration with HRM Pathway (MBA), Postgraduate Certificate in Education and Training (PGCE), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) degrees obtained in UK universities. She is also an active researcher on student retention and achievement, a Panel Chair and Editor of Bulgarian Comparative Education Societies for Law and Education, and an international Coordinator for Europe – ISCEST conference Africa. She has published and presented several papers and articles at national and international conferences regarding issues relating to 'Best Practice in education, Employment and Criminal Law, Human Resource Management and is dedicated to student retention and achievement. Dr. Elizabeth is a Professor of Research and Education, also currently engaged in a postdoctoral project analysing the educational painting work of Professor Claudio Rafael Vasquez Martinez in the Mathematics and Physics Education Project concerning special education needs of children and the relationship to their talents and creativity in the World of arts and painting. In 2015, she was appointed as a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Science in Bayelsa State, Niger Delta region of Nigeria and in 2022, she was appointed a Professor of Research and Education to support research, teaching and Learning and development activities. She is a Senior Lecturer and Module Leader for MSc International Business Management with Human Resource Management, teaching and supervising postgraduate dissertations across QAHE Partner Universities - Ulster, Northumbria, and Roehampton. Before working for QAHE Partner Universities - Ulster, Northumbria and Roehampton, she worked for different Universities in the UK, including Birkbeck University of London, London South Bank University, University of East London and FE colleges teaching across business and HR programmes. Elizabeth is also an External Examiner for postgraduate programs (Ph.D. and DBAs) with University of West of Scotland UWS, University of Wales Trinity St. David and University of Pretoria South Africa . Elizabeth has passion for promoting student retention and achievement and has made great achievement in 'Making Education Count for all.
