Mariusz Muszyński – professor at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University, scholar with a postdoctoral degree in legal sciences, head of the Department of Diplomatic Law and Public Diplomacy at the Institute of Legal Sciences in the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw.
He lectures in international public law and European Union law. He has authored numerous academic papers on international law, European law, constitutional law, the study of state and foreign policy, published in Poland, Germany, the USA, Romania, Hungary and Ukraine.
He was the deputy dean for international cooperation at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (2008-2012).
From the beginning of his career, in addition to his academic activity, he has held public positions. He worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1996-2012) and at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Berlin (1998-2002). He was the Chairman of the Board of the “Polish-German Reconciliation” Foundation (2005-2008) and a representative of the Government of the Republic of Poland at the “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” Foundation (2006-2008), as well as a representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Polish-German Cooperation. He was also a member of the Legislative Council in the Office of the Prime Minister (2006-2009), a member of the Tribunal of State (2011-2015), and then a deputy chairman thereof (2015-2016). He was appointed by the President of the Republic of Poland as a member of the National Development Council (2015-2017).
In 2015 he was appointed by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland as a judge of the Constitutional Tribunal, and in 2017 he was appointed by the President of the Republic of Poland as the Vice-President thereof.
2016-2022 he has been a substitute member of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (the Venice Commission).
