Registering

Inspire your students to take part in the UK’s most popular Maths Challenges. To take part in UKMT Challenges your institution needs to become a registered UKMT centre. Your institution must be in the UK, a Crown Dependency or be a British International School.

FAQs

Can my child participate?

All students must be entered into our Challenges via a registered UKMT centre.

If your child’s school is not registered with us, and is not interested in registering with us, or if your child is homeschooled, you can approach any of your local schools to ask if they are registered. If they are, you can ask them to host your child for the Challenges, however they are not obliged to do so and this is solely at the school’s discretion.

Unfortunately, we cannot release the information on which local schools are/aren’t registered with us.

Good luck in your search and we hope your child can enjoy our Challenges soon.

Both UKMT and the School are Separate Data Controllers of the information as the purposes of processing may vary. UKMT is not required to have an International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) nor a Data Transfer Addendum with Schools due to the exception to the law being the Contractual Obligation between the schools and UKMT.

UKMT’s retention periods for the information is 7 years from the time it was last processed.

This decision will be further reviewed if the law presents differently in the future. For more info email [email protected]

The paper/diagram sheet can be found in the Documents section of your Challenge Profile which can be found in the left-hand side grey menu

This page of the Challenge Handbook should give full instructions on how to pre-populate and download your answer sheets, including screenshots and a how to video.

If you still a question that is unanswered by the Handbook then please don’t hesitate to contact us again.

We aim to have results for first-round Challenges and Kangaroos out to schools approximately one – three weeks after the Challenge has closed. For Olympiads this will be longer as they are marked by hand by dedicated UKMT volunteers.

You will receive an email when your results and qualifiers are available to download.

These are available from the ‘Results and Certificates’ section from the left-hand side grey menu in your Challenge Profile.

Students are invited to BMO1 based on a combination of their overall score and their performance on the full-response questions. It is therefore not possible to give a single qualifying score.
