In the modern world, the construction industry plays a critical role in the development of cost effective methods for the delivery of the most modern and innovative infrastructure facilities. the economy of a nation hinges very much on the availability and performance of its built infrastructure, such as power stations, telecommunication networks, rails and roads, as this is a major aspect that is taken into consideration by investors and corporations before deciding on the location of their projects. the productivity of industries is also determined by the efficiency and quality of the built environment. shriti, Phil, (2008) states that the adaptability, versatility and productivity of the labour force depend on the proper organisation and location of residences and business premises. the whole population of a country is normally comprised of both rural and urban dwellers. thus, urbanization not only involves the expansion of the urban areas but also the growth in the rural population when this occurs at a rate that is equivalent to or higher than that of the urban areas. urbanization is not just about the expansion, development and appearance of cities. In every country, the expression 'urban' has a different meaning. there are many aspects that distinguish urban from rural areas, namely the amount and variety of services, the size and density of the population, and the types of jobs available. towns can basically be differentiated from cities, and cities from megacities. The industrialization of building systems has been found to be necessary due to several factors: the fast and continuing progress of today's world, the industrialization of many aspects of modern living, significant population growth, and the inadequacy and incompetence of conventional construction methods particularly in dense housing situations. This paper investigates the relevance of these factors as the drivers for changing people's habits and perspectives toward building construction and to justify the introduction of industrialized construction approaches to replace the outdated conventional methods as well as the necessity to provide training in order to achieve product quality.

The quality of human life is directly related to environmental quality. Because many people live in cities as a place of social, economic and cultural relationships, certain issues such as environmental crises, energy, air and noise pollution and traffic jams are some of the factors that can alter the quality of human life. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of human life, attention to sustainable development (or sustainability) in cities is proposed. Sustainable building has a comprehensive significance that begins with the conception of negative and positive impacts on the environment. Several descriptions of sustainable or green buildings have been created; however, they all pursue one goal, which is to create sustainable urban developments and protection of the environment. The quality of indoor environments, materials, and energy consumption, water usage, the impact of building construction processes and building maintenance are some of the factors that affect the environment and sustainability. Sustainable building is an attempt to relieve the minus impacts on the environment that occur during a building's lifetime. This research investigates the important factors that have relevance to green buildings and introduces several criteria of sustainable housing.

A few significant indicators and many related subsets, which are crucial to green sustainable construction and also to green buildings, are mentioned in this study. An ecocity is one that utilizes all the critical elements of the environment. Urban sustainable construction is a vital criterion in this context. Sustainable construction paves the way for the building industry to progress towards achieving realistic standards of performance, particularly in view o f economic, environmental, and social concerns. Sustainability is a popular expression that has given rise to various activities throughout the world once people began to grasp the implications of sustainable construction. Sustainability, which is an important factor in reducing the negative environmental effects of construction, includes improving the control and efficiency in the use of raw materials, land and power consumption. The lifetime of a building is based on some factors that are prognostic regarding the manufacture, remodelling, support, utilization and administration of the building and finally, the sources of utilization and waste formation, annihilation and devastation. All of these give rise to a range of ecological issues in the life of a building. Generally, a sustainable building and construction involves a reduction in the utilization of energy and also wastage from the beginning of the construction process and throughout the lifecycle of the building.
