work improve job satisfaction and how these aspects affect
teachers’ perception of their own mental health. A sample
composed of 205 teachers was obtained. The two mental
health subscales of the SWS-Survey and a Job Satisfaction
Scale were used. Descriptive statistic analyses show high general job satisfaction. Also, we found high satisfaction
with job supervisor, workmates, and the nature of the
work. Income satisfaction was reported as low. A multiple
regression analysis revealed most important factors related
with mental health were the relationships with workmates
and the own nature of the job. Another multiple regression
analysis also revealed that the most important factor related
with poor mental health was the own nature of the job.
Key Words: job satisfaction, teachers, mental health.
