This paper presents the process of developing the Family Roles Questionnaire (FRQ) research tool,... more This paper presents the process of developing the Family Roles Questionnaire (FRQ) research tool, which measures the psychological roles played by young adults in their families. Following Wegscheider-Cruse roles/research scales of Hero, Mascot, Lost Child, and Scapegoat were distinguished. The role/scale of Iron Child was added to indicate an individual who doesn't suffer any obvious mental damage despite growing in dysfunctional environment on the basis of multiple reports from the resilience trend. Among women and men from alcoholic families virtually every role came out with a high rate, but the highest average result was in the Scapegoat role. Roles of Hero and Mascot in women, and Lost Child in men, usually treated as specific for alcohol families, did not show up relevant. There are differences between men and women in the scale of Iron Child, which suggests that each gender preferred different adaptive mechanisms.

The review article presents the phenomenon of transsexualism through the prism of the etiology, s... more The review article presents the phenomenon of transsexualism through the prism of the etiology, scale and dynamics of the phenomenon as well as the most controversial social consequences concerning "sex change" and the acceptance or non-acceptance of voluntary personal forms adopted by children and adolescents. Review of contemporary literature, analysis of positions on the issues of the so-called gender changes (gender reassignment, gender matching). The text shows the evolution of understanding of gender identity disorders in the ICD-10 and DSM-5 classifications as well as the controversy related to the tendencies depathologizing gender inconsistency in the ICD-11. Looking at the etiological issues we present an attempt of in-depth psychological analyzes as opposed to the dominant, reductive medical approach. In the text, we also recall the basic developmental regularities of children and adolescents, often overlooked in discussions on transsexualism. As the review of the data shows the rapid increase in gender identity disorders in recent years, their pronunciation leads to emphasizing the growing role of pop culture influences on young people. There is also a lack of research on the use of puberty blockers in children/adolescents -their introduction appears to be an experiment with, in fact, unknown consequences. The analysis of developmental regularities, the transience of dysphoric tendencies and the lack of reliable scientific data on the use of puberty blockers and the consequences of taking hormones of the opposite sex lead to the conclusion that accepting voluntary personal forms proposed by children/teenagers is premature.

Celem tego przeglądowego tekstu jest przybliżenie zjawiska transseksualizmu przez pryzmat etiolo... more Celem tego przeglądowego tekstu jest przybliżenie zjawiska transseksualizmu przez pryzmat etiologii, skali i dynamiki zaburzenia oraz najbardziej kontrowersyjnych skutków społecznych dotyczących „zmiany płci” oraz akceptacji bądź nieakceptacji wolincjonalnych form osobowych przyjmowanych przez dzieci i młodzież. Dokonano przeglądu współczesnej literatury i analizy stanowisk dotyczących problematyki tzw. zmiany płci (korekty płci, dopasowania płci). Tekst pokazuje ewolucję rozumienia zaburzeń tożsamości płciowej w klasyfikacjach ICD-10 i DSM-5 oraz kontrowersje związane z tendencjami depatologizującymi niezgodność płciową w ICD-11. W spojrzeniu na problematykę etiologiczną zaprezentowano próbę pogłębionych analiz psychologicznych w odróżnieniu od dominującego podejścia medycznego. Przypomniano także podstawowe prawidłowości rozwojowe dzieci i młodzieży, nierzadko pomijane w dyskusjach nad transseksualizmem. Przegląd danych pokazuje lawinowe narastanie zaburzeń tożsamości płciowej w ostatnich latach, ich wymowa prowadzi do podkreślania wzrastającej roli oddziaływań popkulturowych na młodzież. Widoczny jest także brak badań nad stosowaniem blokerów dojrzewania płciowego u dzieci/młodzieży - ich wprowadzanie jawi się jako eksperyment o, w gruncie rzeczy, nieznanych konsekwencjach. Analiza prawidłowości rozwojowych, przemijalność tendencji dysforycznych oraz brak rzetelnych danych naukowych na temat stosowania blokerów dojrzewania płciowego i konsekwencji przyjmowania hormonów płci przeciwnej prowadzą do konkluzji, iż akceptowanie wolincjonalnych form osobowych proponowanych przez dzieci/nastolatki jest przedwczesne.

It arouses controversy due to ambiguity of its definition and unclear diagnosis criteria. The author has attempted to verify empirically the so-called ACDFs (adult children of dysfunctional families) control list, treated as a diagnostic tool. The second research aim is the verification of Barnum effect in Polish circumstances, the psychological mechanism which can crucially distort diagnostic conduct. The survey done showed the lack of diagnostic usefulness of most of the ideas connected with the so-called ACDFs control list, the larger part of which has a non-specific, that is of Barnum.

This survey is devoted to an analysis of homophobia, the notion of which is generally improperly ... more This survey is devoted to an analysis of homophobia, the notion of which is generally improperly redefined in social discourse. Homophobia is stereotypically understood as any attitude that is unfriendly towards homosexuality. In such a context, the term becomes a component of politically correct language. The analyses and descriptions of clinical cases show that the notion of homophobia should be used only in reference to a mental disorder of the phobia group. The results of research conclude that the term of homoprejudice is an adequate description of discriminatory attitudes towards homosexuals. The article presents its own model of attitudes towards homosexuality that consists of the following: neutral attitude, anxiety attitude (homophobia), discriminatory attitude (homoprejudice), critical attitude (homoskepticism), and supportive attitude (homophilia).

Editions of popular self-help literature addressed to people growing up in pathological families ... more Editions of popular self-help literature addressed to people growing up in pathological families reach many thousands copies. As a result, terms like codependence, Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOAs), Adult Children of Dysfunctional Families (ACDFs) , have become widely used in mass culture in spite of the fact that there are no such nosological terms either in the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10), or in the American classification DSM-IV. The article introduces controversies connected with simplifications and stereotypes functioning in the self-help literature, particularly from the angle of the so-called Barnum effect, a phenomenon involving general acceptance of ambiguous expressions by individuals. Attention is also paid to the consequences of using self-help literature in the practice of university education.

Trendy cywilizacyjne wobec homoseksualizmu w kontekście koncepcji człowieka
Tekst prezentuje rozważania o homoseksualizmie, którego status jest na nowo definiowany przez wsp... more Tekst prezentuje rozważania o homoseksualizmie, którego status jest na nowo definiowany przez współczesne społeczeństwa. Przedstawiono podstawowe aspekty etiologiczne homoseksualizmu w postaci modelu uwarunkowań biologicznych i modelu psychologiczno-środowiskowego. Opis tych modeli powiązano z refleksją antropologiczną o człowieku, rzadko podejmowaną bezpośrednio w rozważaniach poświęconych homoseksualizmowi. Wskazano na dwie różne koncepcje antropologiczne łączące się z modelami etiologicznymi: ujęcie mechanistyczno-redukcjonistyczne wydaje się dominować w postrzegania homoseksualizmu przez pryzmat czynników biologicznych, a ujęcie osobowe (V.E. Frankl) wiąże się z modelem określonym jako psychologiczno-środowiskowy. Ostatnia część tekstu zawiera rozważania nad prawem jednostki do zmiany orientacji seksualnej i niebezpieczeństwa ograniczenia swobody prowadzenia psychoterapii, które wynikają z lansowania tzw. terapii afirmatywnej.

My paper describes a Polish adaptation of the family assessment tool called FACES IV. Confirmator... more My paper describes a Polish adaptation of the family assessment tool called FACES IV. Confirmatory factor analysis showed a good fit of the model to the data with a sample of 499 Polish individuals from 150 families. The reliability measures of the two Balanced scales are similar to those of the American scales. However, the four Unbalanced scales have lower reliability. Reliability measures of Family Satisfaction and Family Communication are even higher than the American ones. A cluster analysis clearly depicted the extreme profiles of the Balanced and Unbalanced scales, with the remaining four profiles also present. Norms were developed for the various scales. Psychometric verification of this instrument showed that FACES IV-SOR is useful for research and clinical work with Polish families.

In this overview, the authors discuss primary developmental factors and they point out the dynamic specific of adolescence, comprising also a psychosexual growth. Current research review shows that sexual orientation has a developmental and often fluent character, mostly in a heterosexual direction, and that a research on homosexuality leads to the conclusion, that it's etiology is multifactoral, with predominance of environmental over the genetic factors. For these reasons, early declarations of homosexual orientation uttered by teenagers rather should not be supported. At the end, a reader can find pieces of practical advice for psychologists, educators and parents.

W artykule podjęto próbę dekonstrukcji koncepcji człowieka oraz postulatów rozwojowych podejmowan... more W artykule podjęto próbę dekonstrukcji koncepcji człowieka oraz postulatów rozwojowych podejmowanych w teorii queer, przede wszystkim w ujęciu Judith Butler, a na gruncie polskim Jacka Kochanowskiego. Podjęta jest zarówno próba odczytania podstawowych queerowych założeń antropologicznych, jak również ich odniesienie do prawidłowości rozwojowych, jakie wynikają z ustaleń współczesnych nauk przyrodniczych oraz psychologii. Jak wykazano, antropologia teorii queer cechuje się preferowaniem ekstremalnego indywidualizmu i procesualizmu, w której jednostce nie przysługują atrybuty stałości płciowej i tożsamości osobowej. W ujęciu tym tożsamość jednostki jest kształtowana przede wszystkim poprzez wpływy kultury, z główną formą tego wpływu, jaką stanowią wyrażenia performatywne. Koncepcje queer, bazując na paradygmatach postmodernizmu i społecznego konstrukcjonizmu, istotnie dewaloryzują znaczenie biologicznych determinant rozwoju człowieka (genów i hormonów), co stoi w sprzeczności z ustaleniami nauk przyrodniczych w tym zakresie.

In this overview, the authors discuss primary developmental factors and they point out the dynamic specific of adolescence, comprising also a psychosexual growth. Current research review shows that sexual orientation has a developmental and often fluent character, mostly in a heterosexual direction, and that a research on homosexuality leads to the conclusion, that it's etiology is multifactoral, with predominance of environmental over the genetic factors. For these reasons, early declarations of homosexual orientation uttered by teenagers rather should not be supported.
orsząca dzieci edukacja seksualna w oparciu o tzw. standardy WHO, warszawska "deklaracja LGBT+" o... more orsząca dzieci edukacja seksualna w oparciu o tzw. standardy WHO, warszawska "deklaracja LGBT+" oraz agresywnie antyklerykalne działania środowisk "tęczowych"-takimi tematami żyła polska debata publiczna na wiosnę zeszłego roku. Wtedy też publicyści, duchowni i politycy wiele mówili o roli rodziny, właściwym wychowywaniu przyszłych pokoleń, ochronie dzieci przed szkodliwym przekazem oraz ideologii gender. Co z tego wynikło? Obywatelski projekt ustawy "Stop pedofilii", który miał za zadanie obronić polskie szkoły i kształcących się w ich murach uczniów przed ekspansją edukatorów seksualnych próbujących zaznajamiać najmłodszych z treściami niedostosowanymi do ich wieku oraz niekorespondującymi z moralnością najpierw kilka miesięcy czekał na rozpatrzenie przez Sejm, a teraz-po poparciu go w I czytaniu przez parlamentarną większość-nie możemy wykluczyć, że trafi do "zamrażarki". Za to w szkołach jesienią roku 2019 odbyła się kolejna edycja "tęczowego piątku", zaś genderowa Konwencja stambulska, której wypowiedzenie zapowiadali politycy PiS-u w czasach, gdy znajdowali się w opozycji, ciągle pozostaje w mocy. Natomiast niektórzy przedstawiciele obozu władzy w trakcie ostatnich miesięcy wykonali "mrugnięcia okiem" do aktywistów LGBT pośrednio sugerując możliwość rozważenia wprowadzenia związków partnerskich lub deklarując "położenie się Rejtanem" w obronie genderyzmu na uczelniach. Cała dyskusja na temat ochrony najmłodszych przed gorszącymi treściami i wszystkie mocne deklaracje-ze słowami Jarosława Kaczyńskiego "wara od naszych dzieci" na czele-okazały się bezwartościowe. Polska pod rządami PiS-u straciła kolejny rok, w trakcie którego można było podjąć i doprowadzić do szczęśliwego końca działania uniemożliwiające sianie gorszącej propagandy seksualnej w szkołach i usuwające ideologię gender z uniwersytetów. Można było zaostrzyć prawo, by chronić katolików przed "tęczowymi" profanacjami. Można było odciąć strumień zagranicznych pieniędzy płynących do lewicowych organizacji pozarządowych. Można było wiele, ale Prawo i Sprawiedliwość nie sprostało oczekiwaniom. Jednak mimo faktu, że tematy takie jak genderyzm i edukacja seksualna w duchu ideologii LGBT nie rozgrzewają obecnie opinii publicznej, to ciągle postępowi doktrynerzy mogą działać-nadal korzystają z obcego wsparcia, a uczniom wciąż grozi indoktrynacja. Problem nie zniknął, mimo że mówi się o nim niewiele. Dlatego też proponujemy Państwu specjalny numer e-tygodnika "PCh24 Co Tydzień", w którym znalazło się szczegółowe opracowanie historii genderyzmu-od zaistnienia ideowych korzeni zjawiska aż do początku roku 2020. Autorami opracowania są Andrzej Margasiński oraz Bogna Białecka. Wierzymy, że lektura tego tekstu zwróci Państwa uwagę na groźną ideologię, której celem jest dokonanie rewolucji w tak wrażliwej dziedzinie ludzkiego życia, jakim jest płciowość.
