The objective of this study is to develop interactive learning multimedia of Powerpoint (POWTOON)... more The objective of this study is to develop interactive learning multimedia of Powerpoint (POWTOON) in teaching and learning activities especially in reading subject. The study also aims to examine the effectiveness of power point in forecasting approach especially in econometric chapter. A total of 39 students from part 4 Diploma in Statistics , UiTM Cawangan Kelantan were selected as sample. The interactive learning multimedia of time series analysis course was successfully developed and named as 'e-powtimesanalysis'. This 'e-powtimesanalysis' gives significant and valuable contributions to statistics educational practice and knowledge in the area of time series anaysis in the context of Malaysian Institution of Higher Learning. The findings also reveals that the students performance improved by 15.69% when teaching and learning process integrated the interactive approach. The implication of this study suggested that the 'e-powtimesanalysis' can be used to enhance the quality of teaching and learning process in statistics education and simultanoeusly increase the students' performance in times series and forecasting subject.

Students from single-gender schools seem to perform better compared to students from coeducational schools by referring to their examination results. Since, there are less study conducted pertaining to this issue, this study was conducted to identify the influence factors of academic performance of students from single-gender and coeducational schools in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. This study was using secondary data where sample size was 414 samples. The Two Independent Sample T-test and Kruskal Wallis test were applied to examine the objectives. As a conclusion, there are significant difference in academic performance of students between single gender and coeducational schools. Combating poverty is a problem that arises particularly in developing countries. It is important to summarize information on poverty in Malaysia and identify characteristics of the poor. Secondary data of 2007 Malaysia's Household Income Survey (HIS), focusing on lowest quintile household income group had been utilized and was extracted from Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister's Department Malaysia. Binary logistic regression was applied to identify the determinants of poverty. Based on the results of the logistic regression, this study discovered that age of head of households, household’s size, number of income recipients, strata, gender of head of households, marital status, education level and occupation of head of households are the factors contributing to poverty. The purpose of this study was to explore the correlation between the five higher order personality dimensions that are Extraversion, Conscientiousness, Openness to Experience, Agreeableness and Neuroticism called the `Big Five' personality traits (Costa et al., 2006) and students' academic achievement measured by GPA. From simple learning numbers until the complex level, mathematics is one of core subject that need to be mastered in Malaysia. This study aims to identify significant factors that influencing mathematics performance among secondary school in East Coast areas. The factors that being studies are learning style, self-motivation and study environment. Besides, some of demographic variables also being studied. There are 223 students from four different secondary schools in East Coast area were involved as respondents for this study. Questionnaire was given and Multiple Linear Regression was applied. It was found that self-motivation is a significant factor that influences mathematics performance. This shows that student who highly motivated will perform better in mathematics subject.
