What is the Study Abroad Program?

This program allows students from all over the world to spend a semester or a full academic year at the University of Haifa. You can take a wide variety of courses taught in English while immersing yourself in Israeli culture and society.

Is the program accredited?

Yes. All courses are academically accredited and meet the standards of North American and European universities.

What are the "Special Tracks"?

If you want to focus your studies, you can join a specific track such as Psychology, Peace & Conflict Studies, Arab Culture & Civilization and Global Law.

 

What is the "Shopping Period"?

The first week of the semester is a “shopping period.” You can attend as many classes as you like to see which ones interest you most before finalizing your registration at the end of the first week.

How many credits must I take?

The minimum is 12 credits, and the maximum is 18.

Can I take courses in Hebrew?
arrow

Yes! If you are proficient in Hebrew, you can also register for courses in the regular university departments.

Can I join a Hebrew Course?
arrow

Yes. You can join a Hebrew Course as part of your Study Abroad semester.

Can I combine an internship with my Study Abroad semester?
arrow

Yes. You can register for the Internship Course as part of your semester.

Are there trips included?
arrow

Yes! The program includes an extensive schedule of social activities, including guided trips to the Galilee, Golan Heights, Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, and Tel Aviv.
