Language users deal with chatbots or intelligent assistants (e.g., Siri or Alexa) that provide a human-machine interaction. This interaction relates not only to the knowledge of language rules but also to the way language exchange works among its users. Furthermore, such interaction definitely suggests implied meaning and cognitive aspects of the human communication. Thus, the research question of this work proposes the thesis that in the process of natural language processing, the above-mentioned aspects must be taken into account. The present article attempts to address the issue of whether the interpretation of the sentiment analysis models the cognitive background of the language interaction (human communication). Additionally, this analysis provides qualitative data that support the integrity of the NLP processes.

As it has been proved by a number of studies mentioned in the text, the phenomenon of time has been widely analysed from numerous perspectives; yet, the cognitive one is the most prominent and the most significant one for this work. As follows, the key idea for the discussion presented below is centred around the contribution of the colour domain as far as the conceptualisation of time is concerned. In order to prove the role of the colour domain for time conceptualisation, the analysis presented in the article is based on the concept of the future reference, which is exemplified by a comparative study between English and Polish corpus data. The major conclusion from the analysis is that although the colours used for conceptualisation of the future reference are rather limited in their representation, they are still responsible for modifying the qualitative grounds of timenamely they are resp...

Thus, the teacher’s position as the only authority in the classroom has been changed into playing the role of a guide or a facilitator who should possess the knowledge and skills to use modern technologies and to freely access data. This change is particularly visible in the field of teaching and learning languages with the application of various educational platforms and software. Since this situation has been widely discussed since the 1990s, for the sake of this article only selected aspects have been taken into account. The major focus of the present article is to present language corpus analysis as a method of activating teachers and students as participants in the Data-Driven Learning (DDL) process.

More specifically, it is centered around metaphorical meaning and possibilities that are offered by conceptual blends as tools for interpretation. A key part concerns the idea of the correlation hypothesis (Libura 2000) and its contribution to meaning creation. Providing an account of context-dependent (children’s animated films) meaning-construction, the research question assumes that the hypothesis of correlation serves as a useful tool for motivating, organizing and analyzing conceptual blends.
