
Jose Magalhaes
Associate Professor at the Federal University of Uberândia, Brazil. He holds his doctorade in linguistics from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Sul (2004) and Tilburg University – Holland (2004). In his dissertation he studied the stress system of non-verbs in Brazilian Portuguese. His recent research focuses on the history of unstressed vowels in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Brazilian Portuguese, as well as on phonological variation and Phonology and Teaching.
