A characteristic shared by these works is the object of study, namely, native plants, whether these are cultivated plants or master plants. The colonial encounter, however, gave rise to the appearance of a set of autochthonous plants from other parts of the globe-allochthonous-that were incorporated into indigenous lands. In this article I seek to describe the incorporation of the banana (musa x paradisiaca) in the personal and family system of the Kichwa natives in the Department of San Martín from various dimensions that constitute a "becoming-with" that makes them companions.
